The proposed section of this network spans approximately 136.74 km (84.97 mi). There are several passenger stations and a few passenger services, including a user-operated Sunlander. There would be different freight services which would depend on the season: Sugar, Fruit/ Veg, Cattle, General goods, Work trains and local industry. There might also be ore and mineral trains. This would not be a fast route with a max speed of 80 kph (50 mph). This is also a narrow gauge route at 3ft 6in. I believe this route could be interesting due to the mix of freight services such as through freight, local industry, and shunting around a port. You would also get to drive the premier passenger train of Queensland Rail, with that being the Sunlander. There would also be the opportunity to drive local passenger services as well. There is also the Burdenkin Bridge, which is a combined road and rail bridge. I would like to see the Route set in 1966 due to the busy freight time and mix of steam and diesel locos. While conducting research, I discovered publicly available line diagrams from 2003. These should give you a rough idea of how the line could operate, but are not 100% true to the requested era, I have also blanked out areas not part of my suggestion. These have been found here. Interesting suggestion but I fear unless a 3P comes forward the chances of DTG doing any Aussie route let alone a historic one are still next to nothing.
