Hi, I am playing TSC and TSW for a long time and i got most DLC. I just want to share my honest opinion about the following. It’s a shame to see the latest additions to the TSW world — including TSW6 — launching with game-breaking bugs across all platforms. I develop mods myself, so I understand that sometimes things get pushed to master with unintended issues. But for a professional company like DTG, I’d expect a more structured process to catch those problems before release. I’m not particularly bothered by things like flying cars (which still happen on some routes), but they illustrate a deeper issue: if someone adds cars to a route, there should be a clear process to test whether that addition works as intended — and to fix it if it doesn’t. It’s not about the cars; it’s about the workflow behind them. I miss the quality and stability that earlier DLCs had. Maybe shareholder pressure is forcing you to release before the product is truly ready, but please — take a step back. Slow down for a few weeks or months, reorganize, and focus on building a process that supports the quality you’re clearly capable of delivering. I don’t care much about having multiple community managers whose job is to keep us feeling heard. What matters are the developers, artists, and everyone behind the product. I truly hope the team can regain the pride and confidence that once defined DTG’s work.
The OP here has every right to feel concerned right now, and I much feel the same emotions, it has gone downhill. Unfortunately, I doubt these practices will ever change, DTG have been like this for YEARS. It will always go on and be a repeating thing. It's been clear for a while now that the actual team at DTG is stretched thin, and are finding it increasingly difficult to keep up with their workflow, and honestly I feel sorry for any dev or community manager stuck in whatever the hell is going on at DTG while some idiot with no idea on the railways with a degree is swimming in a pile of gold coins like scrooge mcduck up somewhere in Chatham, sad really. I know I sound harsh about the scrooge mcduck thing, but the first rule of leadership of a company, is that EVERYTHING is your fault, and they take responsibility for all outcomes, good or bad. Which, over the years, CLEARLY hasn't happened with whoever is in charge of this company. It's clear the higher ups in DTG couldn't give a monkeys about any railfan. And care a lot about their stockholders instead. It was never by railfans, for railfans. It was stockholders, for stockholders And that's the unfortunate truth of it all. But I believe the devs and community managers of this company do think and care for the railfans of the game, they want a good outcome, like all of us on this forum, but I feel like they're struggling under the constant weight and pressure of the people above at DTG.
My English is rather rusty, so I'm using a translation site. Apologies if it's difficult to read. I have only travelled within my own country. Even so, I am grateful to Britain for bringing railway technology to this nation, and TSW has opened new doors for me. I am thankful to everyone at DTG. I believe the abundance of critical opinions stems from the sheer magnitude of expectations placed upon TSW. If people truly disliked it, I doubt they would have purchased it in the first place. However, many individuals, myself included, have bought the latest DLC and are voicing their opinions. While the strength of words and nuances may differ, everyone is offering support. I too previously raised issues because I hoped, however modestly, to contribute to making it a better game. When I previously raised issues, it was because I wanted to help, however small my contribution, to make the game better. I am not in a position to travel and experience the world's railways. TSW is my hope. I will continue to support it wholeheartedly.
