With the inturduction of steam it seems only logical that a shunter steam tank engine be in dtg line up at some point. perhaps a 060 or 040 or a 240 or 440 or a 222 or a 420 or ???.
TBH, I was surprised that we didn't get a shunting engine for SoS. TBH, I would prefer to see a new route which includes some tank engines that could also be layered in as shunting engines with one possibly becoming a pilot engines for Liverpool
I fully expected it to be planned as a loco DLC for SoS when the route was first developed. I was genuinely shocked when it never materialised.
I hope the lack of DLC for SOS is merely because they have been sorting out the steam physics and other steam related issues, and that we will see some this year. This was a much heralded release, but the flame seems to have gone out! Not only a shunting engine, there are no local passenger trains to speak of and the timetable is far too quiet. There is so much potential for DLC for this add-on, probably more than any other route.
And the silent AI steam loco's which make a Pendolino sound like a 9F hauling 50 coal wagons up a 1 in 50 incline!
