I don't understand how screenshot contest winners are decided. The devs say that they pick the winners yet it seems like it's always the screenshots with most likes, which sucks as sometimes it's more about how early you post than how good your screenshot is (most winner shots are still amazing). Making the most liked screenshot the winner does also make sense but I just want to know.

So Screenshot Contest winners are picked sometimes by most likes but others by how great the shot looks but those threads above show you the winners and they probably were judged with those two above ideas in mind
I don't know who decides what, but they don't seem to have a true eye for photography sometimes, I have seen some which are really good, and they don't even get many likes, I have seen some which aren't very impressive which has won the screenshot comp. But in all honesty it seems to me that certain people seem to win it week in week out. It should be about composition, and sometimes it is not, I have seen some great shots which deserve to win, and they have not!. 1. I think the themes are very repetitive. 2. It needs an overhaul. 3. It needs to be more varied 4. And most importantly, it NEEDS to be fairer But as a photographer. I know nothing!. It would be nice to hear from Jamie, and how it is decided, who decides it, and why. Maybe they need a photographer to judge it to make it fairer. And also it would be a good idea to state if it was taken on the PS4/PS5/X-BOX or PC. I have totally lost interest in competing in the screenshot comp because of how it is judged. DTG are you reading this?.

TBH I am not surprised, there does seem to be certain favouritism with some, and that is certainly unfair. Why enter something which is supposed to be a bit of fun, and find that its certain people winning it with pictures which to me are NOT that impressive, that's why I stated the comment that there have been better shots which have not won, and shots which have won, on which have left me scratching my head thinking WTF! But MetroKaisers shot on week 27 certainly deserved to win, at least they got that right.
Possibly the pics that are most liked by the forum people are more likely to also be liked by the judging people? Correlation=/=causation.
