I see that the first two are half off in the current Steam sale, with smaller discounts on the next two. Worth it?
First two (Petroleum and Aggregates) are the best IMO. They add to: - MML Timetable - Original GWE Timetable (I can’t remember if Liam’s using them; I don’t see why not but don’t want to give false info!) - Suffragette timetable (Aggregates only!) - SEHS Scenarios (Aggregates only! 2 new scenarios) Aggregates is by far the most versatile and, I’d say, best value. Now, Volumes 3 and 4 are where it got trickier. Skyhook couldn’t get their new content integrated to existing timetables, so ended up copying the timetables to add in the new services (or replace existing freight paths). I’m much less of a fan of this style of addition, and I’m sure it wasn’t what Skyhook wanted, but that’s what happened. My opinion? Get the first two if you have GWE. If you have MML but not GWE, Petroleum is a bit meh, just get Aggregates.
Personally I've only bought two, Petroleum and Military, but then I'm not much of a freight guy and they kind of just add freight to routes that already has freight. I bought Petroleum because you can use the 47 and 52 (which I believe was unintentional tbh) and Military because it's something different. (So I'll probably Nuclear too for that reason)
I bought one or maybe two. The wagons are nice, but to brutally honest when sitting in the cab you're not going to see them. There's an outside chance you might briefly pass a consist of them while driving on the route but blink and you'll miss it. Same old Class 66 as SHG would not step up to the plate and do a new freight loco such as a 56, 60 or 70.
Pack 3 is not great for the above mentioned copy of freight patches but also the wagons are very basic in visual detail and are missing alot of basic components such as brake clamps on the bogies.
