it has q key for alerter but i can't find way to actually activate this. AEM-7 has two buttons to activate alerter function but i can't find similar buttons in GG1. how can i make it alive?
The manual doesn't mention it. Possibly it's just there to support British (and very old German) routes. Several US trains like the Miami CSX 8-40CW react to British signal acknowledge thingies. (AWS is now Amazon Web Services so I can't Google to verify the term. I could I'm just lazy and I love to make fun of abbreviations being meaningless.)
From the days when RSC/DTG produced a locomotive and the Manual does not include either a Cabshot or information on how the controls work.
I feel smart now for not writing Advance Thanks. I know you meant the manual but... One should really look around the cab, there is cab light switch so one could find a button. I didn't care in this loco because the cab signal display is in the bottom left whereas I'm normally looking top right to see the world. Also, as the AEM-7 is not compatible with NY-NH and the ACS-64 isn't with NY-Philly, I wouldn't force the GG1. I took a few minutes looking around the cab but I only found a signal pedal which I'd guess is Q to acknowledge: Didn't find anything related to cut alerter in or out.
yup, that pedal. i expect AEM-7's beep sound when passing speed/signal changing points on GG1 but well, if not, then i need to accept that.
