Is there a way to reduce or get rid of Br185 buzzing noise? It hurts my ears. I couldn't find any sound mod either. :/

It's there for multiple iterations already (since TSW2 I think), hard-coded and extremely annoying. Because of the sound, I stopped using 185s altogether.

Well in the true DTG fashion since it hasn't been addressed the first time it appeared, it is now copied over to circa 4 other versions and they won't bother fixing it, because it became too much of a work. And they will keep releasing them like that whenever they need a 185...

Hello, in a related thread there is confirmation and video evidence from real life that the sound is indeed there, so there is nothing to fix. You can lower your volume.

In Spain, high-speed trains run with an overhead line voltage of 25 kV 50 Hz AC and on conventional lines the voltage is 3 kV DC.

In Germany, on the other hand, the trains run with an overhead line voltage of 15 kV 16.7 Hz AC, so it is not logical to compare the different noises produced by the TRAXX in the respective countries.

This is the realism vs enjoyment debate. Should annoying or painful sounds be attenuated to make the sounds in game more bearable or should the sound be faithfully recreated with the annoyance left intact? There will be valid arguments for both options but when it comes to removing sounds or having them at a lower volume or high frequencies tamed the question will remain as to which ones should be altered. Nearly everybody was in agreement that the safety valves on steam locos needed to be at a much reduced level but I think there would be quite the divide in opinion for some buzzing in a cab. It’s a tricky one for the devs. I’ve recently complained that the level of tunnel sounds is too high compared to the standard running sounds but I haven’t seen others complaining about the same thing so I think I might be in a minority of players who think the level increase for tunnels should be less dramatic than it currently is in game. For the buzzing in the 185, I think it is here to stay.
