I first noticed this towards the end of TSW4's life cycle, but no matter which service I choose on ECML, the date defaults to today's date. How do I get the correct dates for the respective Scotsman services in timetable mode? I believe there are supposed to be only two Scotsman runs per month - one for each direction.
I’d like to know how to avoid seeing a Flying Scotsman coming in the other direction while I’m driving a Flying Scotsman already. There’s nothing worse for immersion than seeing two of them when there should only be one. I’d like to think that setting the correct date would ensure I don’t see another but don’t know what date to use.
The timetable is 1 day of the year I believe. Not 365 days of the year. No matter what date you chose its the same timetable for a single day. That's why if you spawn onto a route today, it's normal service, not Sunday service. Apart from a couple of new routes with a weekend timetable.
Some routes have seasonal services in the timetable. All the services are in the timetable selection menus but they will only show up as AI based on what date you select for your service. For instance, on SEHS and other routes there are Rail Head Treatment Train (RHTT) services that only show up in the autumn months as AI but you can select to drive them and also set the date to any date. The Flying Scotsman has different services as AI in different months on ECML but all can be driven by the player on any date. It would be helpful if these services only allowed the ‘correct’ dates to be selected when you play them so it matched when they show up as AI or at least if a matching date came up when you select it rather than the current date.
I see. Although on all the routes I've played with railtours present. I have always see the rail tour at the same time of the day, no matter what day its been. With the rhtt services being the only exception?
TSW3 brought in seasonal timetables, so some months would have exclusive services. I have since found the source of the Scotsman run months, so I guess this will have to do: https://live.dovetailgames.com/live/train-sim-world/articles/article/ecml-flying-scotsman-free-roam Indeed - one of the reasons I noticed this was because I was running a service with the Flying Scotsman and was held at a red signal to wait behind another Flying Scotsman on a passing loop!
