So, I can only assume that the reason I can no longer play TSW2 via my PC Xbox app, is the fact that is has been removed from Game Pass. However, I purchased the game back in December, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to launch it outside of the Game Pass App. If I click on the game on the Start Menu, it gives me an error that says "Train Sim World is not currently available on your account", and make sure you are signed into the Store and try again"....???? Why would I need to be signed into the store when I bought the game now? Can't I just play the game locally or am I goofy.... Thanks in advance
No Worries. I dont have an Xbox or GamePass but I did a quick Google search:- I found these links maybe useful?? Hopefully DTG can clarify for you. https://startselect.com/gb-en/blog/games-leaving-game-pass https://support.xbox.com/en-GB/help/games-apps/browse https://www.xbox.com/en-gb/xbox-gam...CzGVMz8xYS4pPL5hHeImXpqZFgkRoCKkkQAvD_BwE#faq
Surely if you own a game, you can play it via cloud even if it's not a game included in Game Pass, as long as you have access to cloud streaming via having an active GP sub?
No, cloud gaming is only available for gamepass games. I played TSW2 a lot on cloud gaming and I own it as well. But as soon as it left Gamepass, cloud gaming didn’t work. I can play it fine on my Xbox though, just had to install it from the store.
Ah, I remember MS announcing you'd be able to play games that aren't in the GP library which you already own, figured it'd have rolled out by now. [Edit] just checked and yeah, that was due "by the end of this year", so I guess it's a Q4 feature.
Thanks all for the replies. I did purchase the game back in December. Nothing I tried would work, I logged in and out of the store, the Xbox app, tried to launch directly from the library, you name it. So, this morning I removed it and re-installed it, and also re-installed Cane Creek that I had also purchased, and now it all works perfectly. It's possible something happened locally on my machine is now what I am suspecting, but what for sure, remains a mystery.
