I mean relative to other sounds in the sim. Their wagon sound packs seem too quiet relative to loco sounds and other producers wagon sounds. Do other players notice this? Is there a fix or a mod that can be applied please?
I use all WJ Sound wagon sounds here. They are the most realistic available however there is probably somewhere in the Ap sound proxybin (I don't have this item) where you can turn the volume up and down.
I'm always curious when people say sounds aren't loud enough. Are you saying that if you turn up your speakers to a level where you are happy with the volume of the wagons, that other sounds such as the loco itself are too loud? If so, are you positive the wagons should be louder than the loco?
I think that is what he is saying, and I agree. I find most AP sounds a little on the quiet side and a little "clinical". It isn't only wagons, I find the Class 40 sound set so. Those poor old engines used to bang and clatter their way around but the sound set makes it sound as if they are thickly carpeted and double-glazed. Still, they are better than anything else so I am content to live with that. To anwer the original question, it will be necessary to delve into the sound control file (probably *.proxybin) and fiddle with the figures. It is beyond my ken to alter things satisfactorily - I've tried! John
I have also found AP sounds to be very quiet, until I bought new headphones. So I guess the AP devs has better hardware than most of us
Yes. If you turn up the volume so AP wagon sounds are at a credible level, then most of other sounds are near deafening. Having stood next to freight trains going through Stafford station I am certain that wagon run sounds can be as loud, if not louder, than the loco's. Other DLC content creators like 3DZug and Virtual Railroads generally do much better with respect to wagon sounds.
