so I know TSW5 later comes with a starter pack where we get the core game for free just without the routes that are released with TSW5. So with the previous route you got can be used with the free start pack version of TSW5. I am confused with the FAQ about it saying about this. So does that mean if we own the starter pack with past/exist routes we bought we cannot do scenarios, we cant do timetable mode, no challenges etc? even thought TSW4 have all these but those functions are disabled? And a DTG staff give some clarification on this? We can still play our existing add ons normally with the TSW5 starter pack? Also a irrelevant question but i might as well ask here. Can we pre-order the bundle packs?
It will just upgrade TSW4 to TSW5 core. You'll have all your routes, scenarios and timetables to drive from TSW4. I'm wondering about GWR remaster though?
You can get the Starter Pack without owning any previous TSW version. In that case, you only get the Training Center and no other routes. Thats why the FAQ says you will not have scenarios, timetables, etc. If you have other routes from previous TSW versions you will be able to use them as usual after installing them in TSW 5.
I don't think its that complicated, nothing really to wonder about, its just how its always been (only DTC are giving you the opportunity to grab the new core for free?) You could have always bought TSW3 or 4 and chosen not to install the new routes, it would be like that, if you own GWE you will get the remaster.
If you own GWE from any previous version of TSW you will get the remaster for free. Same as it has always been.
Ah i see. Cuz i thought it would be so specific how for some features we cant access in existing add ons when playing TSW5. So now really we are just paying for the bundle + free starter pack version then?
The final column in the table is the one you need to look at for what you get for your existing content with the free starter pack, which does include some of the new features. The second column shows that only TSW5’s new content gets all the features (and includes any new DLC that will come later), and the first column (the confusing one) relates to what you can use if you have no previous or new content, so basically just the included Training Center and the trains it contains.
You only need to pay if you want any of the new routes. If you dont, just get the free TSW5 Starter Pack and use your routes from previous TSW versions with it. No features will be removed from your previous content.
Ah i see. Also since my steam has a different currency to what the bundle price is listed as i am curious as to how much its gonna cost in my own currency
The pre-order is available right now, so you can go to your platform of choice and see how much it costs.
oh i meant the regional bundles since i dont plan on getting the German and America stuff. I checked on steam and i dont seem to see the regional bundles.
Don't quote me on this, but I think I read somewhere that it will be the same price 1 standard route costs to you in TSW 4.
Actually small correction on that table. Digital Display Screen enhancement - it actually works with all trains without any modifications required. It may not be perfect but almost every train i've tried works well. There are a couple that might need custom setups, just let us know if you find any screens that aren't quite working and we can add them to a list to look at. Original plan for this was it required custom cameras to get set up and thus would be new content only, but wizard engineer figured out a way to do it automatically and as I say, works really well Matt.
How will controller support work with the screens for console? Hopefully dpad regular menu selection will be an option, as virtual mouse pointers are extremely irritating using a controller
So, if I understand right, this applies to all trains, even the old ones (such as the TSW2, 3 ones, possibly even the TSW2020 ones)? Or is it new content (TSW5 onwards) plus whatever is included in the bundles?
They implemented a solution that he expects will automatically work with all trains, but there is a small chance that it might not work in a very small number of trains. If you find such a case at release, tell them which train it is so they can implement an specific fix to that train so it works.
