    Hey guys,

I would like to know if there is a possibility to change the track rule and the loft descriptor on already placed tracks, so that the model and the track rule really change or if you have to delete the track sections and place them again.
I have a few track sections which unfortunately have the wrong model and track rule.

Would be cool if someone here could help.

You mean select that track and change it's option?
Because you can lay track using every track rule you want and then, select that and edit electrification, speed and other without problem.
The unique thing you can't change is the distance between the tracks...

In this case, for example, I have selected and placed a track with the loft descriptor “EUCP_TrackMain_01_light” on this part of the track as shown in the picture.

But now I realize that I had selected the wrong loft descriptor and instead of removing the track and placing it again I would like to change the loft descriptor of the already placed track.
If I now change the loft descriptor in the details, the model does not change (see picture 2)

Yes, you can replace the Loft Descriptor and Track Rule for already laid tracks.

1.) You need to setup a new track loft descriptor and track rule in the Select Track or Lay Track Curves menu (just like you do when placing tracks for the first time but now you change it)

2.) Go to Select Mode and select the track ribbon/proxies. If you right click on them, in the appearing menu there should be an option which says something like "Regenerate/Rebuild Track Proxies".

After you did that, your tracks should have their meshes and track rule swapped.

I did that a lot a while ago. Currently can't check the correct wording.

I just tried it out and right-clicked in Select Track Mode, but I only have “Generate/Regenerate Proxies” here, but that doesn't change the tracks at all, or am I misunderstanding something?

Go into the main Select mode (not the Select Track Mode in Network Building Mode), and try to look for an equal option there.

Otherwise I have no clue why it doesn't work anymore.

Unfortunately, you can only select the lidar maps in Main Select Mode. The tracks/ribbons are not even selected...

That would be really bad if the option is no longer available because then I would have to manually rebuild almost 80km of track.

So, confused it. For me, in the TSW4 Editor there used to be this "Replace Loft Descriptor with XY Loft descriptor" option when right-click on a track proxy in Select Track submode in Network Edit mode. This did replace the loft descriptor - Edit: Solution for replacing the track rule can be found below.

Now I've found out what was wrong with me.
I still had the ribbon selection active, which then only displayed the options for the selected ribbon.
I had to switch off the ribbon mode to get this menu.

Thank you very much for your help!

If I now want to change the track rule, do I do this via the same menu or how do I go about it?

IIRC, the track rule should change with this option to replace the loft descriptor as well.

So the loft descriptor changes in any case exactly as it should be but the track rule remains set as it was before.
I also think it's good that you can make individual settings here, but so far I haven't found anything to change the track rule.
