As the titled says. How is it possible to have that gap between 2 or more tracks? See this screenshot The default track is too close together, I want to be able to have the gap ike how I've done it on the left. But continuously keeping that gap for the entire route... How??? Screenshots would be helpful, I just can't find any way to maintain that perfect gap between tracks... And without using that select tool and then adding the other track...
I thought there was another way! Shame DTG never really finished off the game, missing a lot of good features. I'm starting to regret everything about TSW and TS Classic altogether... Very limited game, indeed...
A bit melodramatic if I say so myself. You can use the offset tool to create the gap between tracks that you want. The ability to change the distance between lofts when placing tracks would be useless, as the game only snaps track to the 'main' one anyway... And I'm not sure the game is 'very limited' considering the amount of highly accurate and detailed routes made for it since 2007.
I could lay the entire route as single track, then use the offset tool. It would have been better if DTG did finish off the game by adding. Track/road gap distance Fixed Out of memory issues Remove those useless ads that we all see on the loading screens Add options to change locomotives and routes between MPH and KPH 'Switching between MPH and KPH would be great'. Get item 'like in Trainz' when route building, where you can use the 'Get' tool to immediately select that piece of track that you are using in your route for an example. Add a search box in the editor, allowing users to search for items while route building and while creating a scenario/session whatever! Allow users to choose from Bing, Open Street, Google or any other websites for the map overlay 'Without requiring an API key'. I do have the bypass software Simplify scripting for creating locomotives and rolling stock Add tutorials/video tutorials/guides for Route building, scripting locomotives 'all types', scripting rolling stock all types, and more This is why I'm saying TSC/TSW is unfinished and limited. Trainz has more features than TSC and TSW franchise put together. If I find out how to import locomotives/rolling stock and scenery models into Trainz 'Goodbye to TSW/TSC, I won't be coming back'... Edit: Unless there was a massive waterfall of Australian content in both TSC and TSW.. That's what will make me enjoy both games more.. Even though, I'm trying my best to get some Australian rolling stock into TSC and have been successful. I just can't do it alone!
Again, melodramatic. I'd like to point out a second time that hundreds of accurate routes, many of which are far further away from TS' intended use than your route is, have been built and still are. To be fair, some of your ideas are good, although some like removing the 'ads' are a bit silly, the out of memory errors have already been largely fixed, and some of your ideas would require heavy rewrites of the game's code and would make thousands of scenarios and trains nonfunctional (in particular the 'simplify loco/rolling stock scripting' suggestion). If Train Simulator was as limited as you say it is, the very best routes and trains would not exist, but they do and have done so for almost a decade now. As for your suggestions, some of those ideas have already been suggested (and I'm on of the people who have). You can help out by liking or replying to the suggestion threads that are relevant, or by creating new suggestion threads when needed. As major TS development is back on the table for the foreseeable future (which up until a few months ago seemed impossible), improvements to the editor are being evaluated and are likely already being worked on. Remember that suggestions that involve major changes to the way the game works like the changing of scripting are not going to happen, and that using software to get around mapping services' licensing restrictions are also not going to be done.
Of course - you just create a new track rule with a wider gap between tracks. Have a look at the defaul trackrule for your era - take a copy and fiddle about till you get a satisfactory result. Then use that trackrule in your route - pretty easy really. In the custom trackrule you can set default linespeeds etc which may be a useful bonus. Have fun. Neil
Maybe have a look at the track rule on a US route as their 6 Foot is much bigger [6 foot is the UK term for the distance between two sets of track - even though it varies.]
4ft is between the inner rails of both tracks and 6ft is outer rails to generally the fence in Australia. I can use the offset tool I've got a massive Australian route project. It's in NSW! That's all I'm saying and it's a main line... Eidt, if it turns out well! I'll think about releasing it, if not... Well, it's never going to be mentioned here.
Its the parallel distance in track rules. There is a load of info on track rules at UKTS.. https://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic.php?f=304&t=119975
The wealth of info within the forums is phenomenal. UKTS was always my first port of call when looking for help/info.
