I would like to ask for help because I can't figure out the solution. I would like to export a model from 3Ds Max to TSW5 PC editor. It works properly with the Blueprint Editor in Trains Simulator. However, I don't know how this process works in TSW5. I have seen in several places that the model needs to be exported to .FBX format, but it doesn't appear in TSW5. Previously, RWMaterial had to be used for TS. Do I need something different for TSW5? Or how do I convert and export the previous models so that they appear properly in TSW5? How do I display winter and night textures in this case? Thank you if someone can help with a detailed description.
Simply export the model to .FBX with it's texture added with standard material and then, import the model into the editor and create your own material there
I previously created a model for Train Simulator Classic using RWMaterial. I tried changing it to Standard Material and exporting it that way. (the process of changing to Standard is not entirely clear to me) When exporting to .FBX from 3Ds Max, what settings are needed so that the TSW5 PC editor can handle it properly? And what settings are good in the TSW5 PC editor in the pop-up window when importing? (When imported, the object is very small in TSW5, you have to enlarge it at least 20 times. And it has no texture.) Thank you very much.
When you change from RW material to standard in the material editor you need to apply another time the texture: there you need only to apply it without any specific attributes, you need only the mapping there. After this first step simply export your 3D (without the classic RW name 1_xxx_name) and put it with the texture in .BMP format inside a folder and open the editor. In the below panel click on the right button of the mouse and select "import" (thought is the second voice in the menu...?) and then click on the "import" button in the window that the editor just opened to you. For now you can use the settings that the editor suggests to you and, in the last step, create the new materials inside the editor and apply it on the mesh
Hi! Thank you very much for helping me solve the problem. Unfortunately, many things are not clear to me. Unfortunately, I was not able to solve the problem according to what you described. If you would do it and help me, I would be happy to send you the given model in a private message. If possible, could you make a video on how to do this process so that it appears well in TSW5 PC editor? I would be grateful Thank you very much.
I'm not using 3Ds anymore, I'm using Blender now, unfortunately.... Did you know how work with standard materials in 3Ds? Because if you able to use that parameters, maybe the problem is the import in to editor... I'm trying to help by excluding one problem each time to figure out what going wrong... Obviously isn't a problem helping you to finding a solution. Could you also tell me if the model have 1 or more parts and how you linked it?
