Hi guys, I have a BR101 expert, in the some timetable, they have freight train, I want use Ebula display to calculate BRH, but I don't know how to check the brake weight of the freight carriages, and freight carriages have P and G mode, what's the difference here? in the locomotive, they also have G P R mode, shall I need use which one? It seems that the brake weight of the freight carriages is not clearly marked as it is for the IC carriages.
Sorry English is not my native language.

    Hey Xin Liu
I don't own Expert mode so I don't know how it is implemented but I am a train driver in Switzerland and on boarder lines to Germany. So in Ebula your train should have P/R or G timetable. Basically if it says P you run the train on P-Brakes, if it says G you run on G brakes.

G Brakes (G for Goods/Güter) are slow reacting brakes (using small air pipes) in order to reduce forces.
P Brake (P for Passenger) is faster reacting and was originally for Passenger but is nowadays also used on many freight trains.
R is even faster (R for Rapid).

In General for Germany: the G and the P brake are calculated with the same brake value, that is why you have different timetables.
In Switzerland you would only count 80% of the P-Value if the coach is on G.

Note: for a train in G-Brake excpect around 20 to 30 seconds before the brake fully applies and up to 60 seconds to be released!

Hope this helps for your understanding : )
