Hi, since I am creating the Hauptstrecke Hannover-Hamburg and I was wondering how I can make Custom Train Stations for all the Stops on my Route. Thanks!
In short form: You make a cube in blender, import it into tsw editor, place it in network edit mode in such an orientation that the sides are as best possible parallel to your prospective station building's walls, generate platform splines using the offset loft tool in network edit mode, export the cube and your platforms together as fbx, Import the resulting fbx back into blender, Exactly align the reimported cube with your original cube in blender, Now model your station buildings, canopy and what have you in blender (this step can take a very long time), Export from blender, then import into unreal engine Done
Does Anyone know where I can find tunnel and bridge parts for a modern flying junction? Optimal an Object from Hamburg-Lübeck or Dresden-Riesa
I'm still quite far off from that but let's see anyway if there's a technique. I would start by making the station platforms as placeholders using the spline tools as has been shown in the DTG livestream. They don't have to look pretty (and can even clip) but it's important that they start and end in the right spots and sort of show where the platform is supposed to be and how high it is. Now for the export. Select all nearby track pieces and use the "Convert Proxy to Static Mesh" function. Don't worry, this isn't permanent. It just generates data that can be exported. Then go to "File > Export Selected" and pick a folder where you want to export the FBX file. Once that's done, select the placeholder platforms and export them as well in the same way. You don't have to convert then to static mesh though as they export just fine. Import both of the FBX files to Blender and move the whole thing towards the center of your scene (it's likely to be pretty far from the scene origin). Then merge everything. Now you can work on the station model but I don't know how to import it back and align it with the tracks just yet.
I don't know what I am doing wrong, the track doesn't convert to a mesh. In blender the track is the same when I convert it to a mesh and when I don't.
Does it show up in the Blender viewport? If it does, you should just select everything and merge it into a single mesh. Then you may or may not have to scale it to 0.01 due to Blender and UE4 having different units.
