    Hi all,

Question mainly for the US users but could also apply to the UK users too.

I've found mods for US locos, for example the Clinchfield GP38-2 can now use the SS EMD 16-645E enhancement, available here: https://www.trainsimcommunity.com/m...i1922-clinchfield-gp38-mlwaudio-compatibility.

My question is, how does one go about doing that to other locos - I want to modify the Clinchfield SD40s and possibly GP40s to use the Searchlight Light flares and sounds.

Also, another question for the UK users:
I downloaded a reskin from DPSimulation of an OTA timber wagon that comes with the EWS Class 66 2.0, I have the AP 4 wheel sounds installed but the reskin uses default sounds - tried to copy the AP sounds over but all I got was the joint sounds and not the run sounds - How do I get the AP sounds to work with any reskins? Will it simply install or do I need to edit .bin files?

    Thanks

    Jamie

You can add sounds to any loco and change the default sounds to something you like.
The way to do it is look at the bin file of the loco you like then change the bin file of the loco you wish to change

If the Audio files are copied to the loco you are modding and if they are alike you might just have to change their names.
Audio files are .wav and they need to match otherwise you would also need to change the proxy files

There is a free program you may have called DAV Decoder which takes a .dav file and makes a copy as a .wav file
    https://rail-sim.de/forum/filebase/entry/31-dav-audio-decoder/
You can listen to the audio sound to see what it is before using it

I did the same with some wagons a while ago - can't remember which ones, but I think it was the PAR wagons from TS marketplace - they had that god awful "clip clop" joint sound that DTG uses and replaced them with the AP old wagon sound pack.

Tried to do the same with a DPSimulation reskin of the OTA that comes with the Class 66, for some reason the reskin didn't use AP sounds, so tried to convert - all I got was the AP joint sounds but no run sounds for some reason. Any idea on what I did wrong?

I would check thru the bin file of the wagon and compare it with the default version that has AP sounds.
    Cannot think of anything else
