Hi everyone, When driving the class 380, 350, 377 and any other UK commuter trains with a walkthrough-gangway, it's incredibly strange to stand up. So when standing up, either you will get stuck in the roof with your driver and have to sit down again or hope that you are allowed to crouch to get away from the driver seat. Or you will just get catapulted away to the other side of the cab. But when trying to leave the cab from the left side, where the driver seat is, it's really difficult to pass this seat and exit the cab via the driver door. Is there anyone who has a neat trick to normally stand up or leave through the driver door? Cheers.
I just tried the tree trains you mentioned and I had no issues, on my end. I do use mods and maybe try installing this mod by Spikee1975 TSW CabCam Improvements All-in-One v1.62 - Train Sim Community
This bug appeared with the release of TSW 4, just avoid pressing 1 twice in a row and the bug will not appear. Shame that it still hasn't been fixed in TSW 5..
First time I heard of not pressing 1 three times, but I just tested it in the three trains 380, 350, and 377, and the only one that had the issue of the head popping through the roof, and not being able to get out the drivers door by walking through the chair, was the 350, the other two it did not happen I tapped the 1 key 6 or more times with each train and the only the 350 had that issue but I did not get stuck, only could not get out the drivers door by walking through the chair. This may not happen with everyone, or maybe the mod is doing more than expected.
When you press 1 more than once in a row, your seat becomes solid. On most trains, when you stand up, you are sent away from the seat, but on some units (like the 72 stock) you instead just rise, and have to move away from the seat yourself. In the former case, the seat is impassable, and on units like the Electrostar or the MBTA CTC-3 cab car, it makes the driver-side cab door inaccessible. In the latter case, you stand up on top of the seat (because it is solid) so you end up in the roof. You can crouch to try and escape, or you can press Ctrl+0 to teleport to your seat, after which you can use Ctrl+= or Ctrl+- to change cabs and stand up normally. This affects all trains, but is more noticeable in cramped cabs.
I will have to take notice more often, the reason being, I have pressed the 1 key many times more than once and not deliberately, it just happened, and I have not gotten stuck yet, nor have I not been able to exit the cab. It could very well be that I have been using the Raildriver for much of the cab functions and using the keyboard only when needed or for the camera 1 - 8 and 0 for the selection wheel.
