    Hi all,

Very straight forward question. Would it be worth me buying Haupstrecke Rhein-Rhur (apologies for spelling) for the aditional layers on Koln - Aachen? I currently have all layers except the BR101 and the ones from HRR.

Is it a big layer? Or even is the route itself a good one? Or should I just wait to pick it up in a sale?

    Thanks in advance!

HHR is very short route about 20 miles. Its quite an old route so doesn't have the newer lighting and scoring system. The 101 adds a bit more traffic to a quite route. The 101 layers into a few other routes. As for layering into koln aachen 101 has 4 full length jobs and BR425 has about 85 but they all mostly 2-5 minute jobs.

Ok, I may wait for a sale then because I want the extra layers around Koln and Aachen because I like busy timetables. 101 is definitely coming soon to my purchases though.

    Thanks very much

In my opinion buying HRR just for the layers it provides to SKA is probably not worth it. The 422 is AI only and the 425 services are very short. Their only real purpose is to make Köln seem busier but it's already pretty busy anyway. However, having the 101 is key. I don't think you need HRR to unlock the 101 layer, but if you do, that changes everything and you should probably get HRR.

However, I would add that HRR with the 101 and MSB is quite good in its own right, albeit somewhat short. So, perhaps it is worth taking a look at anyways!

HRR is especially fun for freight, because you are constantly being held for the nonstop commuter traffic

HRR is good for a quick blast but if you own the (OG) 101 it now layers on so many more routes where it can get a better and longer workout.
