I want to run the HST services on ECML but the MML livery isn’t very realistic. I’ve tried downloading LNER liveries but all seen to be tied to the GWE HST version. Is there a reason for this that I’m not aware of? Any help would be appreciated.
GWE was released a considerable time ago, and I believe received livery designer compatibility before MML was released?
So it’s just a case of waiting for someone to make a livery for the MML HST version? I see it in the livery creator so it must be possible?
I would assume it is related to the fact there were never any LNER liveried VP185 HSTs, so people have done it on the version that wore the livery in real life.
Actually EMT HSTs weren't entirely uncommon on the ECML. LNER frequently hired sets, or sometimes just power cars to cover services when they had fleet shortages. It was quite convenient as EMT's HST fleet were based at Neville Hill in Leeds, right in LNER territory. This is even reflected in TSW, there's a handful of EMT HST services in timetable mode.
LNER had the MTU version of the HST, the same as Great Western. Some LNER liveries have been done for MTU and VP185 versions of the HST however these aren't selectable for the ECML HST timetabled services. I think there is a bug as it shows the distance of these trains as 0.
Yes I figured there was a bug as I quickly created a livery and tried it and nothing showed up. Hopefully it’s fixed as it would be nice to run those ECML HST services in some different liveries.
