I have noticed, especially on London Commuter that when looking at the HUD you occasionally get the next speed for the train in front that is turning off. As the points are set 2 miles ahead for the train in front? You are up at 80/90 mph and the HUD says 2mile 30mph. You then have got gamble on your route knowledge that there is no 30mph section ahead. Because the train in front is turning off somewhere? Or question if this one is being routed somewhere funny? On TVL the HUD speeds are occasionally all over the place, occasionally throwing in rogue 60mph zones. Anyway, it could be just me. D
It's not just you. I've experienced exactly the same, can't recall exactly where and when but one second you get shown 30 upcoming and then the next it disappears. The bit on TVL that is always weird for me is approaching Middlesborough heading away from Darlington, it just can't seem to make it's mind up if it's 45 or 60 as you cross over a series of junctions. Somewhat unrelated but my personal favourite is approaching Eaglescliffe heading to Saltburn and the limit raises slightly from the 50 of the junction but as soon as you hit it and get on the throttle you have a 35 limit in a few hundred yards and then just to rub salt in the wound, suprise 25mph! Caught me out many times until I could remember the route well enough. If you aren't paying attention it's manageable in the Class 20 with its magic land anchors but not chance in the Class 31
