What is Tycoon anyway ??. I didn’t bother paying attention to it when it got announced. Looks like a kids version of TSW or something.
another troll thread. it’s a game for kids. if my mum had given me her phone and let me play that when i was 7 i’d have been very happy. there are plenty of other options if this doesn’t tempt you
That DTG can improve in many ways is something we all know, but to try to discredit them or the work they do in any way is ridiculous, for example in this thread or the other one about the guy who gets his circuit breakers tripped when he plays TSW.
Well they are interesting so far as we can see it’s not just the train games which are bugged and no one from DTG gives a flying fig about any of it. At this rate I think they have one part time programmer doing all four (now five) games plus an intern in Azerbaijan.
I tried TSW Tycoon for the first time today and I have mixed feelings. First of all, you have to register on the Roblox platform, which is possible on Playstation with a PSN account link. Positive: colorful, simple graphics, lovingly crafted assets and a child-friendly atmosphere. You are also immediately involved in the cute game world and you really want to finish building the train station to see what building parts or interior furnishings are still waiting for you. You can also set up and visit toilet rooms, which are still a taboo subject in TSW. Negative: the more you expand the train station and the more you can see on the screen, the more often there are stutters or FPS drops, which is not worthy of a powerful PS5. There definitely needs to be some optimization for the consoles. The drawing distance is also set very low, which is noticeable due to pop-ins during train journeys. Another aspect is the realism of trains: as a long-time TSW player, you are simply used to a different league of simulation. The Roblox train models are very simplified and minimalistic, but still match the look of the original models. But a Class66 or the Swiss crocodile with only one freight wagon is just strange. The Class142 launch train also had two additional wheel axles and the Talent2 has no power car at the end of the train. Conclusion: TSW Tycoon is a small snack for in between and seems to attract many Roblox users (not just children). But it's not a real TSW replacement. You still have fun setting up a train station, and the different climate zones (snow, grassland, desert) also provide variety. In any case, it's a new game world that can be expanded. Personally, I liked the Holiday Express DLC that came out two years ago, where you can drive the entire train collection across the living room and around the Christmas tree.
