I build my own Raildriver/Control Panel/Fahrpult in the last few weeks. This is my Version 2.0 and it is arranged a little like the German Standard "Fahrpult" but with consideration of practicability as well the most common keys in TSW. Except the two black buttons all buttons are lit as well, which makes driving at night especially enjoyable. So, how do you like it? Please discuss... Nice work! You seem to have used only commercially avaliable buttons, levers and switches. Saves you lots of trouble in trial and error 3D printing and assembly of for instance this SD40-2 control stand: from: Control Stand Controller??? | The Depot Forum (thedepotserver.com) obviously the wiring and interfacing still is a challenge.
Hello Becks_23 Super work ! I have already watched various videos on this subject and want to build something like this myself. Could you take photos of the underside so that I can see how the sticks are connected and how the buttons are connected. Because at the moment I don't understand exactly how you have connected everything to the USB encoder and the USB controller. That would be really nice of you, and would help me a lot. Greetings Daniel
Hey ruhland72, there's actually nothing really special about it. I connected the ball joysticks with 5-pin cables to the USB encoder board, the cone joysticks with 2 cables to 2 2-port slots (as I don't need 4-way-joysticks obviously). The buttons also to the 2-pin slots on the encoder board. The lighting got the 5V-slots either of the 2 encoder boards I use for the buttons and joysticks but as they's only 3 5V connectors I used the extra encoder board for the rest of the lighting 2-pin cables
Hello Becks_23 That doesn't look bad at all. Could you add a large picture of the whole back in the thread, like in your first thread. So that you can see everything at once in this one picture? That would be really great of you. Thanks and regards Daniel
Hey Daniel, it looks quite messy ;-) The two USB Encoders are on each side and in the middle is the "Lighting Encoder" where I had to extend some of the cables Hope this helps. Or per DM... Cheers Becks_23
Hello Becks_23 Thanks for the photo from behind ? I have a question for you ! Could these buttons with 3 pins also be controlled via JoyToKey ? First product with 3 pins: https://forum.zusi.de/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=13401 Second product, I'm still waiting for an email with the connections: https://railswitch.de/products/24 Greetings Daniel
Hello, I have a question. I have 2 controleboard, as you have.Have you connect them directly to you PC (3 USB port) or are you using a HUB or something else. I ask this, because i have a use hub with own powersupply but then the PC does not 'see' the board. Only when i directly connect then to the PC it works. Thank you Henk
damn that looks nice, oftentimes I wish that there was sth like RailDriver, maybe a bit more sturdy even, more widely available and such... keyboard and mouse is ok in most situations, but it isnt the most practical when you e.g. need to slam a lever down to zero or back
Hello Back, I am building the same sort of board. I have only a problem when i have 2 joysticks on 1 board. Then when i move the joystick it always is Joystick 1. I think this has something to do with the JoytoKey config. How did you config the board with 2 joysticks?? Thank you Henk
I use a 3-USB-c-hub as I have a laptop only... works for me... UGREEN Revodok USB C Hub PD100W, 4K HDMI, 3*USB A Datenports USB C Dock USB C Adapter Multiportadapter kompatibel mit iPhone 16, Galaxy S24, Surface, MacBook Pro/Air, iPad Pro/Air, Steam Deck usw.: Amazon.de: Elektronik & Foto
