Does this thing override the AWS when it is on(like the LZB does with PZB), because I don't get any sunflowers on yellow signals. Also while I can see the max permissible speed on the HUD, I can't see it on the cab displays, where is it exactly? And another thing is the max permissible speed does not really change according to signals. It still shows you a clear speed of 125 mph when you have less than a mile left to a red signal. I don't really understand how this is a train control system, it's more like a fancy speed limit(not based on signals but rather track limit) information system? Please correct me if I perhaps forgot to turn on some switches or operating it incorrectly, the Training Center introduction doesn't explain much. I turn everything on with Shift + Enter and Ctrl + Enter.

TASS doesn’t override AWS & TPWS it works in a similar way to GNT on the BR 411 & 612, because of you’re tiling ability it will give you higher speed limits (125mph) when active, although there is nothing in the cab showing your max limit though, TASS is just the lights and buttons on the desk and will only notify you of speed changes when you’re going too fast over or not at the next speed change in time, the driver should know their speed limits

I didn't know what TASS was either, but Trainiac has explained it brilliantly. As for the issue with AWS, could it be that you have not properly turned it on? It is a common issue that people are facing with the Class 390.

Just out of curiosity does the 390 have ETCS? Or are the units too old?

the only way to see the speed for 390 is too look at the yellow number on the speed signs
