There have been many posts that criticise the look and, particularly the sounds of the game and I totally get that. You want the most authentic experience that you can get. However, as someone who is not an expert on what actual trains sound like or scenery looks like in many routes, I cannot but feel that, by being happy in this respect, I am getting better value for money than people that may be more perfectionist. Like I say, I feel smug, and I don’t necessarily feel comfortable with that. Certainly we should pull DTG up on failings so that any problems are addressed but let’s not get carried away and enjoy the routes as they are until the fixes are put in place. For example I enjoyed SEHS before the patches and even more so after they were implemented. Ideally of course, every route will be perfect on release but sadly, that’s never going to be the case as everyone has different expectations and often release dates take priority over “completeness”. And of course, at the end of the day, this is a computer game, not real life. I know that not everyone is going to have the same opinion - that’s what makes the world interesting - but I would be happy for comments. Just keep it constructive.
