I feel I might have noticed some very subtle yet very big changes but is it just me or is GWE express route between paddington and reading seem to be getting more and more overhead gantry's, now I know I might sound like I am loosing my marbles here but I could swear electrification of the line might be coming in the form of overhead cables for pantograph systems, I cannot help but feel like the game is slowly upgrading the line in real time in the form of unspecified updating.

You're losing your marbles. Someone had to say it :D

It isn't possible for what you're saying to happen, but the route it set in the time period when the GWML was bring electrified.

That's not really how updates to routes work in TSW4. It would be extremely impractical for DTG to push out build after build for certification with minor catenary changes every time. It would be a very messy project vs simply building a new version of the route.

I do however recall the steady release of Guild Wars 2's "Season 2" update and its "Silverwastes" map, and how over the course of weeks people noticed the vines on the map were ever so slowly growing by an almost imperceptible amount every hourly tick, only noticeable if you happened to catch one right as it ticked over. That was cleverly pulled off by very slowly playing an animation of them growing through the map which once the whole season finished dropping takes around ten seconds to fully play out each map reset, but back then was playing at one frame per hour. It did initially lead to a lot of "I don't remember this being here" moments as people would log in every couple of days and swear the vines had moved. Which of course they had.
