being on pc do we have the same amount of trains at one time as console or is it abit different just wondering.
As of today... the PC timetables have more trains on a couple of the routes, but the same everywhere else (I think GWE and Munich PC has more layers and timetables active) As of next tuesday the newer consoles will get the full timetables, the same as PC so only older versions of Xbox and PS will have the limited functionality PC still gets better graphics settings than any console, with even PS5 and Xbox One X being "limited" to high or equivalent (PC can go to ultra) PC also has more passengers on screen (100) than console at the moment (limited to 50 on all). Again as of next week for Rush Hour routes this goes to 200 on PC and higher consoles and 100 on the old potatos
Compared to current PCs and next gen consoles and what games now are doing vs 6 years ago, they are fairly underpowered (I mean they were when they launched compared to some of the top-end PCs).
Gen8 consoles currently run at 20 passenger limit and will be going to 100. Gen9 consoles will run at 200, the same as PC. In most respects a Gen9 console is basically running the PC version of the game now. Gen8 remains fully supported but don't expect it to do everything a Gen9 or PC can do, and don't expect them to be held back by Gen8. Equally, we won't be just dropping any old stuff out on Gen8 and focusing on Gen9 either, the older consoles are still important, there are a LOT of people still using them. Gen8 - PS4, PS4 Pro, Xbox One, Xbox One X Gen9 - PS5, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X.
I can’t compute seeing this same old argument time and again. Buy a horse, live in a cave and use dial up. Electric cars are here, do I want one, no. It doesn’t mean I’ll berate every owner of one. Is fuel going , who knows? Point im making is time moves on. When it gets to the point you feel you’re product is not up to scratch or that upgrading is worthwhile then do so. Until then enjoy what you have. I’m sure those with electric cars don’t want them held back by burning dinosaurs and those with a pc didn’t spend the cash to be held back indefinitely by a 2008 or whatever they are now console.
There's nothing inherently "wrong" with the last gen consoles so long as you do on those consoles what they were made to do And given what they were made to do and what we're trying to do with them now are two slightly different things maybe we need to look at what they can do and agree on that being not 200 passengers, 10 moving trains, graphics to the wazoo and all at 4k60? I am not one of the "everything has to be new" brigade, my CPU is 6 years old and half the speed of modern i7s, but because I understand that I also don't expect it to do everything the new CPUs can do, or at that speed. And I especially wouldn't get butt hurt if someone pointed out that my machine was 7 or 8 years old and for computers, that's old
But I’m being realistic , it’s easy to notice people that want last gen support to be dropped because they have next gen
Not really. You don't know what consoles or PC I have or have had, you can only go by what I say and then react to it I hope DTG support the Playstation 4 as long as they can but WITHOUT impacting the advancements for everyone else, and I see no reason for them not to do so. UE4.26 is very much supported on PS4 BUT with limitations of the hardware that PS4 has compared to PS5
The basic architecture is that old, even if they bought it last week. I've got a radeon RX 580 GPU on my PC... release date was 2017, but I can still buy it today. Still makes it a 4 year old GPU... Things move on and change and update, doesn't mean the old stuff is "Bad", just means it's not as good or efficient as what we make now. Fact of life I'm afraid
If we get to 2025 and people are still wondering why a PS4 is not supported there is slim chance of hope for humanity and common sense. That said I’ll take massive exception of the n64 or original Xbox in the roof is not supported at 60 FPS pretty quickly
I can genuinely say since I bought my pc I’ve ever cared what my one x experience of train sim is like. As much as I try to be a good person I don’t care what my friends console version of Assetto corsa is like vs my pc. You focus on enjoying what you have
‘Potato’ means bad or old or rubbish (in terms of it hardware etc). My laptop is potato so I can’t have ts on it
Its always an issue if you recently bought a Gen8 console because they are now cheap. They are cheap because they aren't the latest and greatest any more. For some people though that might be their only hope of an accessible price point. I'm sure not every recent new player is on the latest hardware.
On behalf of my PS4, I am deeply offended by the use of the term potato to describe it. Both mine and its feelings have been hurt. I can hear its overloaded fan whining in pain every time I play TSW2, that’s how much the insults hurt. On behalf of potatoes I am deeply offended by the use of their name as a catch-all term for out of date and low-tech. Potatoes have eyes you know and they are now full of tears. How could you?
My poor Xbox one a when playing cal train. I always prevent playing the route so my Xbox doesn’t have to cry
Same has been happening on PC for years if users haven't got the latest processor or graphics cards they get looked down on and ridiculed by those that do, you soon learn not to be all snow-flaky about it, as no one really cares.
Except that's not what happened. What happened was someone said "Maybe they can't keep up with the new fangled things" and someone got "hurt" by that... No looking down on, no ridicule.. simple straight up honest truth
It’s just the same with pcs. I mentioned something about pcs with 32gb ram being utilised more to have more scenery on a stream last week. Within seconds mr “I’ve got 64gb” popped their head up. I was then expecting mr I run three 3090s, have a 4 terabyte of ram and an i3 processor because it’s retro pop his chub out on the table and for a throw down to happen
Well that's the thing no matter what you say you have someone will always say they have better, and then you get those getting all anal about FPS my answer to that is I ain't got a clue what FPS I got, as to me if it looks to be running smooth I couldn't give a toss about FPS, I would rather be playing the game than sat for hours fannying about with the settings just to get an extra FPS so I can have a pissing contest on a forum about it.
In my view is more like people on next gen are furios that people on old gen play the same game....hahahahaha. Ps: I dare DTG to stop supporting Ps4/Xbox they Just CANT!
You know DTG and forum members are fond of dividing the market into 3 segments - last gen consoles, next gen consoles and PC. But PC is not just one level. There are an almost infinite number of PC gradations or levels. Some of us have rigs that are about on a level with PS4, others have rocket ships which far outplay any console. My PC is middling any more, though 5 years ago it was a powerhouse. Now I think a PS5 or Series X could outperform it. So we shouldn't lump all PC's into one homogenous segment. We're all going to be playing with different hardware now and forever. Let's just accept and live with that.
Because sales to the massive installed Gen8 player base = revenue for DTG = ability to invest in more and improved content.
Hear, hear! I started out playing TSW2020 on XBox. I only switched over to PC because I could make use of mods, not because I could add a few fps to my penis size.
Is like that: Gen 8 Players: I have an old car...but i pay the same for you to wash it for me as a guy that have a New car...and if you wash the same way i am still going to pay you to continue washing. When i buy the my New car i will remember and still calling you back to wash it for me...hey i might even pay more (tsw3). So DTG keep washing...errm i mean keep releasing...hahahahahaha
