These blocks appear because of an ini change you’ve made, although the ini change is only serving to highlight an already existing problem. It’s been discussed on other threads (with input from Liam) but my understanding is that these blocks of trees are appearing during the terrain laying part of the route build and are almost impossible to get rid of. They are visible in the editor but my understanding is it is not simply a case of deleting the assets as you would normally expect to do, which likely points to a bug within the editor itself. On WCMLS, if you raise the viewdistancescale= to any more than the default value of 1.0 you will see these floating trees. It’s frustrating because it limits the ability to improve the tree pop-in in the normal manner, but it is what it is. In DTG’s defence, although this is not ideal, it is not there in the vanilla game.
That would mean it's not really DTG's fault and players who aren't modifying the game won't have that happen. So it's user error?
Well no, it’s what I said it is. There are still blocks of trees floating in the sky, the fact that you can’t see them is neither here nor there. They’re still hurting performance and shouldn’t be there.
Is it bad I first saw this and I thought there was nothing wrong with this and thought it was a normal photo.
