The only think I can think of its find a station you like the look of and try to replicate that to the best of your ability. It will take some skill but it can be done. Or you could do a simplified version to save all the hassle!
Start with a base plate and then place your tracks, then build up the platforms. Once you've got your track and platforms I'd say that's a good place to do some more detail.
