That the UK had only had ONE non-steam route add on in the whole of 2022
Hopefully they'll follow up BCC fairly swiftly with the 170/196 and extension to Hereford, then, since we're owed!
I know right! This also shocked me. But it does give the other countries a bit of a chance, given that 2021 saw SEHS, the Class 465 (remember when that was a separate loco add-on?) Diesel Legends of the Great Western, Cathcart Circle Line, London Commuter, the 1938 stock, the Class 313, and West Cornwall Local.
Perhaps next year?
To be fair the launches of both SoS and TSW3 took up development time, we had one steam route and one brand new non steam route, so it's equal.
I imagine we'll have more regular UK releases in 2023 as the groundwork for steam is mostly done besides manual firing. I'm just hoping there's an equal output of historical & modern content to please everyone. Steam should now be put into the release rotation, rather than being something that comes out on occasion.
The extended SEHS is missing off the list. Maybe even DTG have forgotten about that one.
Also ARuscoe does not appear to own many add-ons at all.
I was more confused that the Holiday Express was included on the list. I don't really consider it a proper route compared to the rest of the releases.
Still a dlc
Remember, the older a route gets, the harder it is to find reference material. Sos in particular took over a year I believe to find reference material, get sound recordings, get the simulation part down, etc. So dtg can't make it every few months like we're used to
This is true but they would still have reference for some TS favourites. Riviera in the 50's would be a great pick to come over to TSW.
I only drive UK routes, so don't own anything outside of this that wasn't part of the TSW or TSW2 core routes
It would have created misleading results due to being an extension and reworking rather than entirely original.
Cross City isn't steam, is it ,
SoS is steam, isn't it
Island Line: 2022: More an expansion pack with a 484 included, that's all the UK routes in 2022
Along with the post title...
"I never realised ... That the UK had only had ONE non-steam route add on in the whole of 2022"
SEHS wasn't classed as a new route, SoS is steam, The Island line was a rebuild so Birmingham was the only new route
