As many of you all probably know there is a First Great Western (FGW) mod for TSW (the forum post about it can be found here). I've been a bit hesitant to get into modding, but I must say: This pack really brings a different player experience to the game. As a kid I remember playing the FGW HSTs in Train Simulator (can't remember which, I was just a kid that liked trains but knew nothing about them), and this brings back some of those great memories. I'll share a few of my favourite images from my first play with a FGW HST below (which you are free to use for whatever you want to do with them).
I think what makes this mod so good is that the GWE stock is still present, so you basically get a transition era with an amazing amount of rolling stock, the interiors are different as well. Seats have completely different models, etc. I know it was basically just a little bit of livery fixes and then turned on a "switch" in the code, but it is probably one of the best mods ever made for TSW2.
This one isn't exactly a "mod," it's more of a default livery which has been hidden in the code, and the only "mod" involved is unlocking it. DTG did in in the dev builds, but then apparently First Group put the kibosh on using it and mandated the green GWR livery alone.

It truly is, I'm a PC user, but I hope First give licensing anways someday (the HSTs arent their parade piece anymore), so console players can use it too.
Yes, less of a ‘mod’ more of a ‘hack’ which under other circumstances could have caused major issues for DTG with licenses. It seems that there have been no serious ramifications though. It could have resulted in the removal of the game from sale in a worst case scenario. This is why there is no editor for TSW.
Hopefully something is done with these. The Class 166 (jolojonasgames correct me if I'm wrong) still has the old HUD and doesn't have any fixes (like the carriage end doors and the sounds, which I presume extend to the HST), but the HST does have the new HUD at least, which suggests that DTG have updated it for some reason. Perhaps DTG could secretly update the trains to modern standards, and then perhaps add them fully if FirstGroup let them. That said, the FGW HST will live on in a way, because the livery editor model will almost certainly use the HST model.
I think that this would be easy to disable by removing the files from the build. The HST is a different model without the embossed GWR on the side. As I pointed out during the stream tonight, if the passenger limits on older routes are a simple 1/0 flag and we can get 200 passengers and using the core passengers with a simple mod like this one that changes that flag then max and new passengers will be available for all routes very soon after launch on Thursday
One little quirk is having this mod installed along with Cathcart, it causes the 314 to appear on GWE instead of the FGW 166
trainsimcz has updated the mod for 4.26, but it doesn't seem to work with the Class 43. Tested with the Class 166 fine though
Ok guys, im sorry that the version 1.1 dont work like everybody expected. Problem was that downloading whole TSW 2 with 4.26 end up corrupted and TSW 2 decited to redownload again. I had that mod ready but i cant test it as Epic version dont have GWE DLC yet. So somebody test it for me, but he tested just Class 166 and not HST. Right now there is new version 1.2 (http://trainsim.cz/?mod=article&showid=2489) which is completely fixed and HST FGW is working like it suppose to work. And i added little bonus to the route selection menu under the GWE route there is even FGW logo... enjoy
