Not sure if others on the same platform are seeing this, but there are frequent stutters along routes (far far more than I ever saw in TSW2). A little less noticeable on the Kassel route, but horrible on SEHS. Hard to tell whether it's just the FPS dropping from 60 to the 40s or high 30s in some sections or if it's FPS fluctuations flickering back and forth creating a stuttering mess that really isn't smooth or enjoyable.
Yeah, I noticed this too. Even panning the camera around on foot at certain stations (with no trains on the platform) gave quite noticeable stuttering. I've tried switching the resolution to hd, but that didn't seem to make any difference.
It isn't just Xbox. They need to do a lot of optimisation work. I still wonder how much they are relying on blueprints in Unreal Engine, rather than nativizing into C++. A couple of dev diary videos show a lot of blueprint use. Blueprints won't bring them close enough to the hardware, or give them the means to truly manage problematic code or even resolve some bugs.
I'm in the same boat (train) at the moment. Gone back to play TSW2 routes in TSW2 to work on some achievements. I'll leave TSW3 to the side for now and hopefully it will be properly optimized in the months ahead. At least in my case it was a simple Gamepass download and didn't spend any up front money on it.
Same for me. I finished downloading old routes this morning and tried one route which was London commuter . Seemed ok, pretty smooth
