I can't get first-hand information. I know that there is a DLC for simrail that is a freight route in the United States, but there has been no follow-up news. I saw Train Planet's new train simulation game on youtube. The trailer was released half a year ago, but there has been no new news. Because DTG cannot access US freight, US freight has been shelved. What a pity!
Simrail has freight routes to the United States, so I am very concerned about it. Unfortunately, it has been almost a year and there is still no new news, and the developers have not released any new maps.
If it is US freight you are looking for, I have heard of a game that may suit your interest. I haven't had any first-hand experience with it, but apparently, they have quite good routes and trains (albeit, at a price). Train Simulator Classic
Probably because they are still being worked on and the devs don't really have time to make detailed updates Train planet is still heavy in development so that's why it's been quiet. The US route for simrail is still being worked on.
The last mention of Simrail by Searchlight Simulations was from May, which is this post. Only other info thats been said has been related to other things they've been working on for TSC.
Train Planet is completely made by a Ukrainian development team. Some of its (lead) production members are in the army right now! I am afraid production is going either very slowly or has stopped (definitively...)...
No one really knows the status of the Searchlight route for SimRail. The developers don't provide much information about its progress. If you want US freight focus in a product, there is always Run 8, albeit you will have to learn to love its medieval graphics.
As Run 8 SoCal route is over 400 miles from Modesto and LA to Seligman, probably nearer 600 miles there is no way DTG would be able to match that in TSW. Run 8 gets away with it by having relatively simple graphics and low detail and most of the gameplay is what the player makes themselves, not scenarios or a timetable.
The US route will be much longer than WCML over Shap which took JT one year to develop. SimRail has a level of detail and accuracy that's higher than TSW's, so let them develop the stock and route until it's ready, so we don't get Beta DLC.
