Since OpenAI introduced the Assistants API allowing to create your own assistant with full control including additional, very useful features like being able to use and process data from the user or directly integrated via files like office documents or code files or simple text files or by creating your own "function" that it calls and uses when appropriate, and additionally the publicly available custom GPT feature available for ChatGPT Plus users that allows you pretty much exactly what I have said above, just in a user friendly way via UI which allows you to share them publicly, via link only or completely privately --- I got an idea.

With permission of everyone that created something like documentation, threads and so on for the TSW Editor that provides help and knowledge for everything TSW and TSW Editor, I would like to create a bot or assistant - depending on how many can access ChatGPT Plus as I want to make it available to as many people as possible - that can help with development and creation of TSW content in an easy way without having to search for answers for hours, without resorting to having to ask something if you couldn't understand something, if you don't have the time and so on and so on. One reason I would like to make it is because documentation is sparse and nearly community-only, with a lot of important knowledge being spread around in small circles of modders, Discords and threads and posts, and this would help starters a lot by providing an assistant that can answer questions in readable and understandable text, that can provide fixes or help for problems, and so on and so on. For example, asking about timetable creation can provide a short guide on how to create a timetable, and following up, you can ask about services, etc. In the end, it will NOT create a plugin for you, and it will NOT create any content for plugins, it will only provide help and assist in development. At most, it can provide help for the community cooking patch, but nothing further than that. Everyone contributing and supporting it, including the source of the data used in outputs and general, will be credited in both output and general (chat replies by GPT and in about sections).

So my question is, what do you think? Do you support this idea, do you support an open assistant via a Discord bot or a custom web app? Or are you against the idea? Feel free to voice your concerns and possible ideas, criticism.

I will not pursue this idea until a mostly positive response supporting this idea exists, and if it exists, any contribution and support will be entirely crowdsourced - meaning if you don't commit data or support to it, I won't use it and will not touch it in anyway - I will use data only with clear permission.

Just to clarify, custom GPT and API data aren't being processed by OpenAI in any way, no inputs and no data used in chats like uploaded files or images will be trained on by OpenAI in any way, so this gurantees user privacy and general privacy.

I would be highly dubious of the accuracy of the information a chatbot would give. Just writing some text/screenshot guides would seem like a better use of time to me.

It will be in a highly controlled environment, as I have control on instructions, the data it has and so on.

Yeah, but if we've already got instructions and tutorials that are of high enough quality for the bot to "learn" anything useful from them, then any human user can also search through and read those. The absolute best case scenario here is that the bot just adds an unnecessary extra step in the middle. Of course, there's a wide variety of worse things that could also happen.
