The attached screenshot is from the layers screen on WCML Preston - Carlisle. I assume the grey shows that I don't own that item of DLC. Strange because that van should be part of the Heavy Freight pack which I do have installed. How do I go about finding which DLC contains a greyed out piece of rolling stock in a layer?
Thanks but how can I tell which dlc I need from the information in the screenshot? I'd got West Cornwall, Blackpool and Tees Valley installed and Spirit of Steam doesn't get a mention. Turns out that installing Spirit of Steam has resolved that particular issue but I don't see how I was expected to know it was required for that layer.
PCA is the freight car that comes with the Class 31 add on, is it not? And PGA is the freight car that comes with the Class 20 add on, I think.
Probably, but the wider issue is that it appears very difficult if not impossible to identify which dlc is required to populate a layer such as the one I mentioned using the information in the layer list in game.. If there is a way of doing it I'd be glad to hear it.
Oh it is! Mostly you have to figure out what the initials refer to. But they can be cryptic. Eg DSN is really Tees Valley, because Darlington/Saltburn and LMC is Spirit of Steam because Liverpool Lime Street to Crewe. I actually thought you needed NTP (Manchester/Leeds) for that, but other poster was right that the version of the br 12t van for that layer is from the Steam DLC.
Indeed it is and installing that dlc enabled that layer but Spirit of Steam or LMC doesn't appear in the screen shot I posted, hence my question. Happy to wrap this up now, thanks for the replies.
