If you were a driver for Scotrail and could sign any/as many trains as you like, wich ones would you sign? (When you sign for a train if basically means your signing up to learn how to drive it and drive it.) Reminder of the rolling Stock: Class 380 (Not in game) ^^class 380 and Class 334 at Edinburgh Waverley Class 385 (In game in poor quality) ^^left to right Class 43 inter7city hst, class 385, class 156 Class 153 (Not in game) Class 156 (Not in the game) Class 158 (In game but not in Scotrail livery) Class 170 (Not in game) ^^^left to right Class 170 and Clas 158 Class 43 inter7city hst 4 coach/5 coach MK3 sliding doors (Coaches not in game. Power car mostly in game but with a different livery and slight cab differences.) Class 334 (not in game) Class 320 (not in game) Class 318 (not in game) ^^^left to right Class 320 & Class 318 --------------------------- Class 314 was scrapped so I'm not including it. ---------------------------- I've heard alot of people saying why they would or wouldn't drive certain scotrail stock. Let's see what ones people actually love/hate. Let me know what train/trains you would choose and why below.
Personally I would sign: Class 380 Cause it's my local Class 156 Also my local Class 153 So I can drive west Highland Line Class 170 Cause 170's are awesome! Class 385 I like a challenge! Plus traction motors sound amazing! What trains would you sign and why?
Class 43 HST Why? They are one of my local trains Class 158 Why? I like the subclass Class 170 Why? They are my favourite ScotRail train
I work on 158s and 170s so would definitely sign them. I would also sign 156s as they are similar to 155s which I also work on. I would also work on the Inter7City just because it is an HST (sort of).
Pretty much the electric stock they have! Why couldn't this be a poll? I know some people hate polls, but it could have been really interesting here!
I would drive: Inter7city- It's a HST so yes 380- I just like desiros 158- thrashy boi 170- it's a turbostar which one of my favourite DMUs 320/318- A good bit of old EMUs I won't drive: 156 and 153- I don't like those sprinters 334- a bit ugly imo 385- only because the window is very small
Think you get the choice. Though for your first route/train it'll probably be whatevers local to you. (or closest for transport)
If I were to work for Scotrail , it will be a hard decision of what trains you want to sign , Scotrail is vary hard to decide what you want to drive first in your first day , your probably going to have to apply for the job and select what locomotive you want for your training , you should have your ID card number with your photograph and you're date of birth certificate in it , please remember that they require an email address , password , phone number , street name , house number , and apartment number
That user is known for being a pest and copying others posts. EDIT: might be a different user but I have a feeling it's an old troll from before with a different username. Apologies in advance if I'm wrong.
It will very much depend on the depot and what traction different links sign at that depot. I don't know much about Scotrail and their practices etc, but I can tell you that drivers will have absolutely no input as to which train they drive as like at other TOCs they driver will be allocated different units, over different days and often within the day to. It's not just a case of 'oh I want to drive this train, that train and another', but a case of I have got to drive this and that train today, if that makes any sense!
I presume you mean ' I have got proof' and I also presume you are speaking about as much sense as a squashed spider.
DTG Alex could you remove this person from the forums please? charliejay801 Their just trolling at this point. I'm sure you can see.
class 43 class 170 and for electrics probably; class 320 class 318 mainly old trains, because i think it would be best to take the opportunity to drive them while they are still here. and while sprinters are great I remember hearing that the cabs are a bit small and so i dont think it would be nice to be a driver of one.
There's a thread on rail forum UK about which specific depots sign what traction and what routes. Highly recommended you check it out. It makes for interesting reading. That's for every TOC in the UK, not just ScotRail.

For it would be the 334 and 320 maybe one of the diesels too... I never knew 318's operated out of Bathgate though?
Difficult one. I'm not a fan of short (not many carriage) trains so that rules out most of the options. 380 is nice, but I don't like the letterbox like window. 43 would probably be the one, but I'm not a fan of diesel trains in general as they are quite loud. So probably for me I'll need to come back to this thread once scotrail gets some more stock! A Scotrail bimode 80x maybe? Scotrail Aventura? Sure!
380 or 385 cos electrics and cos of 100 mph ... also it looks angry and cool, and nice, unlike many UK EMUs lol
Hmm, I could drive those I suppose - hopefully there isn't too much of a racket in the cab xD. Would like to see a meridian DLC in the game. Though surprised that they aren't going to cross country, being of the same family as the voyagers which are very much in short supply w.r.t crowding on services. I wonder if 222s can work in multiple with 220s and 221s
