What when it includes my dream route (albeit in the wrong era)? No thanks, I will be pre-ordering within the next couple of days.

 

If, one year from now, they have managed the simple task of releasing for TSW4 the fixes they promised for TSW2 a year ago, I might consider picking it up.
Not holding my breath.

 

The irony is this is actually the best version of TSW genuinely with the new features.

 

Agreed, I think NTP will not be my top route anymore with ECML and BOP (JT route) coming.

 

I must say I'm extremely surprised that I'm genuiely excited for a non British route very rare for me. The route choice is really good and the new features are amazing.

I'm not quiet sure though weather ECML, SEHS or BML will be my favourite

Sorry I think I may have unknowingly used an abbreviation that aligns with the Austrian route for the JT route. I am sure someone will think of a better one!

If you are unhappy with yet another TSW game, or just simply don't want it - don't buy it.

It's incredibly ironic that TSW4 is by far the most impressive addition to TSW - and the things it improves upon (eg Livery Designer and Scenario Planner) make the existing versions seem, frankly, utterly pathetic.

To me it's knocked my (skeptical and minimal) expectations out of the ballpark - out of the region - and I have absolutely no hesitation regarding buying it- I just have to decide which version.

Calling for a boycott because you don't like it is ridiculous.

I am with you here, the ECML and the new JT route are my new favourite routes in game, I love the class 801's and the route itself and obviously the flying scotsman! But the JT route looks mint! The pacer is very nice and detailed, along with the route. Can't wait.

 

I’m in no hurry to buy it and won’t pre order it. I want to see it first.

But there’s no way I’m boycotting it. 2 routes that I want and the Vectron for just over the price of a single route is good value in my eyes .

I don’t like the way fixes will only come for TSW4 that’s not fair on people who don’t want the new routes. Not going to boycott though. If it was successful (which it wouldn’t be - most users aren’t even on the forum). It would likel kill of the game I love to play.

Everyone knows what DTG are like by now. It’s up to individuals whether they want to focus on the positives or the negatives. Personally I get enough enjoyment and value out of TSW for what I spend. (If I went to the cinema and got a takeout on the way home it would cost me more than TSW4 and be over in a couple of hours). I have a lot of complaints but TSW4 isn’t one of them.

 

Here come the DTG defenders in their droves. It's a shame they can't let others have their own opinion without wading in.

 

You're literally complaining in this post about their opinions.
Labelling them (us) "DTG defenders" implies it's a bad thing.

 

This thread is ASKING people to boycott something. People who don't support it will obviously explain why. It's hardly shunning an opinion (albeit arguably saying this brings in nothing new is incorrect)

 

You can easily translate their post to "oh here come the people I disagree with who just HAVE to share their opinion" and it still holds the same meaning.

To expect people to just sit in silence when someone suggests a boycott is just...

But yeah I don't think the business model is the best ever but its EASILY not the worse. I'm happy to splurge out once a few months for high quality.

 

I don't get these types of negative things being said and thrown at DTG, especially suggesting a boycott I mean really... come on.

To me, it looks like the best iteration so far, and it sounds it as well.

Possibly, but most of us would likely be buying TSW5 anyway for the new routes and new features. I buy stuff on what it's like at the time I buy it. If it gets further improved/fixed down the line? Awesome. If it doesn't? I knew what I was getting into when I bought it, as I watch and read reviews before I buy the majority of the time.

Yep, I want more trains, and more routes lol. If I need to buy these apparently yearly new releases for that? So be it. It comes with three routes for the price of one.

 

A boycott won't do any good to anyone, bit extreme not gonna lie, throwing the devs into a financial problem is literally fuelling the fire, it would just make everything worse

I understand a lot of people are frustrated with TSW4, but boycotting is just uncalled for and just way over the top

 

Wait, so you mean to tell us that they (Dtg) made 3 brand new routes (each with a new train) + 2 loco addons, scenario planner 2.0, livery designer 2.0, new scoring system, PC public editor, volumetric fog, upgraded DRA, upgraded Olhe, photo mode, free roam mode, a hud with adjustable difficulty and several other things too and they managed to do all that in their lunch break?

If so then WOW, I'm really impressed!

I agree wholeheartedly with your comments I think it's great I can play a train game on my ps5 ,I don't have a good pc for it,sure it has it's short comings and in the greater sceme of things what you get from what money you give out is not bad in my humble opinion

 

Not sure if I want to dive into this toxic pit but here we go.

Honestly, the PC editor sold TSW4 to me because it really is the biggest toy in my opinion.

Also about calling boycots and other ways of drawing attention, I used to be like that but eventually found that it's not satisfying. Often you should just think for yourself and solve the drama and it's impact on you with your own decision. In this case just don't buy it, find something that will give you better value or something all together different that you can come up with. Of course nothing is perfect but the trade-offs can be something that doesn't matter to you as much.

 

It’s a waste of time being really vocal about issues or boycotting something you generally enjoy. DTG or any game company will only fix what they want to fix. They’ll only build routes/levels/worlds they want to build. You can either buy the game or not, but any time wasted moaning about stuff is just a waste of time and energy.

 

Yep, just skip it if you don't think it provides sufficient value to you, or just wait for a sale and pick it up at a discount.

I'm not picking it up, will just save my money and buy something else instead - it's not likely to even be a game.

I think TSW4 is fair but TSW3 if anything was the bad one, now lucky me I got it free from a giveaway but its only features that were notable are TOD 4, Volumetric Skies, Dynamic Weather, Training Centre and a new UI TSW4 has a lot more so for me I think TSW4 is what TSW3 should have been including the aforementioned TSW3 features and the current TSW3 shouldn't even exist.
