Hey, I know I have said this countless times and I will say it again. Look at this image and just let it speak for itself. The amount of artistry this station has is outstanding. Just look at how many switches, platforms there are, how you have buildings like the CN tower, which is the highlight of the GTA. And to imagine leaving it out is heartbreaking. Look at how much the community is missing out on. I might be the only one here who realizes it but maybe others will too.
Yes, looks like some people don’t have any idea of the possibilities they are missing out on in the simulator.
The originality, and the unique charachteristics, how you have trains sloping downwards in a tunnel coming out the other side with many switches, multiple verities of railway connections on the exterior. And then the highway running along the eastbound and westbound line along lakeshore with great landmarks that are almost impossible to miss!
I ain't seeing it. Just looks like any other station - nothing special, at all. I count 3 across 3 tracks, and I count 0 platforms, from that photo. Also "loads of platforms" ain't really a selling point - Glasgow Central (Cathcart) has 15 (High Level), London Victoria (Brighton Mainline) has 19, Marseille-Saint-Charles (LGV) has 16 Tracks.
To each his own, but I'm not really seeing it either. Now Kansas City union station, that is a work of art. Pictures don't do it justice.
Sorry, this is the Train Sim forums, not the Church Sim forums, they're next door No seriously, that might be the best looking station hall I've ever seen - and I only learned about it 20 seconds ago.
The image is really nothing to write home about, the same argument could be made for anything, like how the BML doesn’t go to London Bridge, or how the Bakerloo doesn’t go to Watford, except your argument is that a route not designed for passenger services would benefit from a few passenger services using rolling stock that doesn’t exist…
You see I am a resident here and it would mean a Ok, how about this, I will illegally walk across all the tracks and record all of it step by step because looks like your unable to do research. All you do is criticize but don’t see the full picture. I travel there almost every day and I can bet you 1 million dollars that the station has at least 19 platforms. And they don’t have to be a selling point( the landmarks are the main specialty.
OP has a point, but his image does a real poor job illustrating it, here's some pictures off of Wikipedia that show it in a far better light. Exterior Interior Here's a image of the switches that OP's talking about, there is some really cool complex track work at play in and out of the station. With that said it was so much more impressive back when the CN & CP railyards still existed. Honestly what I'd like is something set before or just after the CN tower was built personally, as the those yards still existed at that point.
Just backtracking a minute, that image looks like it's taken right at the trackside, how does that one work...
Thank you so much, I can’t even describe how thankful I am to have people like you here. Please raise your voice like this more, this is exactly what we need.
Ok, it’s fine, I’m trying to inform people like you that don’t know because it’s a huge piece to the puzzle that’s missing.
Every piece is the same size, equal to the next. Gare Du Nord, Paris, to Shanghai Maglev, China, to Grand Central, NY (although that is coming), to this place. No suggestion is better than the next. Yours isn't better than mine, my suggestion isn't better than yours. Remember that.
You can keep fighting, but if you keep the way you've done in this thread, and the other two we've been, erm... ...discussing (that's the diplomatic term) this, you'll end up meeting Mr. Banhammer.
I think it will... (Also, imagine getting so worked up because your favourite route - one of thousands across the world - hasn't been made. You should feel lucky Canada even has a route, as only France, Canada and Switzerland current are represented, outside the "big three" of UK, USA and Germany.
You do realise there are hundreds of people who have suggested routes on this forum, and only a fraction of them get made, right? It's not negativity, it's called "come back down to earth"
Yeah, well shouting and swearing won't do you any favours. Having three threads on the suggestion is also kinda breaking the spam rule. I'd recommend picking one and sticking to it.
In fairness, part of my frustration is the fact that I - and many other people - put ridiculous time & effort into our suggestions, knowing fine well it has every chance of not being made, but then people like you come along and think: "Maybe I can make a big fuss and they'll have to make it because of my narcissistic view that my opinion is better than anyone who doesn't agree, and anyone who agrees is the true god in this world"
Check the rules mate. I'm sure you'd rather have a platform to pitch your "Best route on earth that everyone is missing" (it's not), that everyone should like (they don't have to), and if they don't they can go f- (they shouldn't).
Extract from the Forum Rules: No spamming Spamming includes posting the same post multiple times in a forum, repeatedly posting on the same topic in different threads, or posting the same post in multiple forums. Multiple posts, whether on the same boards or different boards, will be locked or deleted.
You sure about that? The only person that explicitly agreed with you was Mich, and he was the one who actually did anything to sell the idea to me. Your "masterclass" of a picture showed me nothing but something I could easily describe as: "Generic_NA_Railway.jpeg"
I can also upgrade the to four now, thanks to the thread about 15 minutes ago. Anyway, I'm dropping this, clearing we aren't going anywhere with this, and it's almost three in the morning, and I'm getting a headache. Thank goodness it was new years' yesterday, otherwise I'd be sleep deprived by now.
