Is there a way to import Routes form Train Simulator Classic into the TSW 4 Editor? Would like to remaster the Karlsruhe-Offenburg Route with new 3d models and it would be much easier if i just could redesign everything instead of building the whole route all from scratch.
I´m pretty sure that it wasn´t, BUT maybe it is possible to export the whole route as an .obj or at least take the terrain data out of it or else
You'd need to find some way to export the data from the .bin files TSC uses to store terrain data. This definitely isn't this forum's expertise - I'd ask around game hacking forums.
Even DTG struggle porting TSC routes into TSW. I don't think it is actually possible. You may be better off remastering an old TSW route, but I don't know if the editor can do that... sorry. I think they reason it is easier to remake routes from TSC is because they don't have to go out gathering reference material.
That is one good question and regarding that route it actually started life as my Appenweier Straßburg Hbf route. The problem with that is that train simulator classic it's not built on Unreal Engine therefore you might need to ask a hacker form about that on how to convert the files there into Unreal Engine
I don't think there's a way. TSC uses its own proprietary format, using one file for all track and signal logic (tracks.bin), separate tile files for terrain mesh, terrain texturing, scenery, road and loft items, all in tokenised .xml format. I'd really see this route come to TSW, I've spent my childhood in the village of Kork which is featured nicely in TSC (although having texture issues with the church). My late grandfather took me to the ponds near Kork station and introduced me to fishing there.
