First of all I would like to thank the team at Dovetail for all there hard work on the train sim project I would like to see longer freight journeys at the moment some are in 3 parts , I would like it continuous with a stop for staffing reasons as on the real time table As part of that another thing I would like to see is reverse, Let me explain On real time time trains under ZZ for freight you can view the full time table for most services and often it will say service reverses here sometimes multiple times for one service I would also like to see united Kingdom mining and quarry , So I would like to see working headstocks for coal mines and the ability to load coal A few years ago some coal had to be taken from Thoresby colliery to Welbeck colliery to be cleaned because there wash had broken down I would also like to see WH Davis wagon works at Shirebrook , So we can take old wagons and pick up new wagons , They also have something to do with nuclear flasks,, These are very rare services to catch although the WH Davis is open every week day and some Saturdays the movements are about 1 every 2 months The Tamper Where is it when's it coming I know there's one for train SIM classic that would make make a very nice feature on TSW4 & what if it was in time table after so many services for example 50 so every 50 services the Tampa comes out Sometimes they just move ready for planned work later Then of course there's the rail grinding train with the electric sparks introduced in TSW3 how spectacular would that look at night I'm from the east midlands In Nottinghamshire United Kingdom Local collieries Welbeck Clipstone Shirebrook Warsop Warsop Vale Mansfield woodhouse Clown Bolsover. Coal light Lots of quarries in the area
In the UK freight should also run to a notional timetable, with booked departure, passing and arrival times.
Yes many UK freight services are pre booked , Although there departure and arrival times there often delayed due to speed limits , and real life events such as trespasses or weather , Many UK freight services are also in the time table and down as runs as required and usually cancelled or Not running due to request buy train operated
I know from my time spent working in various railway controls that freight could run early on its timetabled path and we (as in NR) frequently agreed that with the FOC or signallers to keep things flowing. But it still got checked off against the booked times. Even short notice movements still had to be timed under VSTP arrangements and that schedule on paper needed to be validated to fit in with other services. Or the infamous TRUST delay minutes would come back to the VSTP desk or the NR control!
