How do you stop incompatible locos being allocated on a timetabled run? I started a run on SPG with a C40 but the second loco allocated was an EMD SD40. I thought they might have worked together over whatever communications system CSX specified but on enabling the electrical system on the C40 it tripped something which shut both locos down. I managed to get the EMD running again as I have become familiar with these after a RL video showing the startup procedure, but I could not restart not the lead C40, I tried to drive it normally without the GE r but the generator on the EMD was not providing power. In the end I managed to drive from the C40 by setting up the EMD cab with the brakes shut down but the power system set up with the reverser in reverse (it was facing backwards) and generator/run switch on but there was not enough power to make it up the hill with 3500 tonnes. Is there a way to get two compatible locos on the timetabled run and how do you restart the C40 since they have more power than the available EMD locos and would likely work better on their own than the EMD would, should I get allocated an incompatible combination again?
It is random. Still, working fine. Here < link Another thing, locomotives configuration is sometimes not enough to go uphill (HP per Ton ratio).
I was not referring to the brakes. The engine/generator set shuts down and cannot be restarted on the GE C40-8. The EMD is restartable as the door on the side is working but the door on the C40 shown open here will not open and can't be restarted. This shutdown occurs when I try to switch the GE locomotive to run when it is coupled to an incompatible EMD (GM) locomotive which keeps on occurring every time I try to load a timetable.
Oh, I see, interesting, I will try to spawn such a configuration and try. This game has some drawbacks...
