I downloaded the game this morning but have only just got around to trying it out thanks to the joystick of being a dad. I’ve not done too much at the moment but I’ll give my initial impressions on what I like and don’t like. The Bakerloo Line is a challenge, just done the Zone One Scenario and was around three minutes late as soon as I left London Rd depot. The 72’ Stock is brilliant at slowing down, you really can fly into the stations and still not overshoot. I did find some of the stop markers seem to be slightly off in relation to the CCTV monitors at the end of the platform. The stations the self are lovely but very quiet passenger AI wise. It really does break the immersion for me. The Underground is fun to drive on and found driving in the tunnels fine. I know lots of us mentioned how dark it was when the Bakerloo was streamed last week, it must have just looked darker than it actually is. I’ve just gone over to try out the ICE 3 and BR 442, just done the introductions to each train, the horn on the 442 cuts out now and again and on the ICE 3 it’s sounding a bit choppy too. The locos look stunning but assets are very unimpressive and remind me of GWE and NEC. (trees, overhead wires and tracks are awful but that could be my PS4..) I’m at the station now looking down the line and can see the overhead wires and ballast on the track flickering in the distance. I’ve not tried Sand Patch Grade yet so won’t say anything but I like the new controller layout, it makes things much easier, opening doors etc... the camera is now easier to navigate too. The HUD perfect, tells me everything I need to know, takes some getting used to but it’ll come in time. Overall it’s a good game without giving me the wow factor, I’m not blown away but the visuals but that could very well be my day one PS4 which sounds like a 747 taking off. Early days, TSW2 has a long way to go and I look forward to the new routes they’ve got in mind. My initial impression score is a solid 7/10.
