Hello, Here I start again with another suggestion. One that really deserves an extension on the day when Cologne - Aachen was presented (TSW2) International High Speed link between Köln (Germany ) and Bruxelles-Midi (Belgium) With no fewer than four major stations including Cologne, Aachen, Liège and Brussels. With accessible speed from 300 km/h the HSL 2 / HSL 3 Are the pieces that make high speed possible These are located between Aachen - Liège and then from Liège - Leuven also a large station where these trains never really stop. The line itself has much more to offer than just Express services, as there are also Standard passenger trains that run alongside the High Speed trains on Line 36N between Leuven and Brussels at a speed of 200 km/h and for most other trains 160 km/h. With the newest European signal system ETCS which is starting to appear everywhere these days seems like a fun reintroduction to experience it in the train sim world series rolling stock One that everyone already knows: DB BR 406 ICE 3M although there are recently plans to replace the current ICE with a new one (ICE 3neo) The other one used to run for Thalys and has now been changed to Eurostar: TGV Eurostar PBKA And of course one of the most modern Belgian trains after the M7: MR08 Desiro ML NMBS/SNCB for regular train services Another interesting fact: Unlike other European countries, trains in Belgium run on the left side of the track. small Important things New type of Overhead line standard high voltage is 3kV and 25kV on High Speed lines Completely different signals Beautiful places along the railways Viaduct van Battice Ruyffvallei, parallel met A3/E40 high-rise buildings at Brussels-North Train World a Belgium train museum at Schaarbeek station Brussel station an important stop for many destinations not to forget the unique station architecture of Liège feel free to share your thoughts on this
If they would rebuild that route (bring it to TOD 4), actually have power switchover in Aachen, upgrade the ICE 3M to actually support multiple systems, introduce ETCS properly to TSW with core support, add Belgium as new country to the franchise, secure licensing for the SNCB trains and extend it to Bruxelles on top of it all, then it would actually make sense. But that are a lot of ifs and frankly too many for one route alone.
Looks like you might have read my suggestions L36 and L37 which are my Belgian Suggestions by the way there has to be Société Nationale Chemin du Fer Belge NMBS Locos capable of Bridging the German and Belgian systems
I have to get the inspiration from somewhere. This suggestion is mainly about the high-speed connection that has been built between Leuven - Aachen runs a little bit over the L37. From Brussels to the HSL2, which starts after the 36N, same line as the line 36 only a standard line that goes further than the 36N, although they overlap from Brussels and are actually the same. This suggestion is therefore more focused on the Express Trains. It just a twist to reinforce the idea but it is understandable if this offends you. I am willing to take this suggestion offline if that is your wish?
Thank you for telling me about this plan of yours looks and mine L37/L36 when combined with Schnellfahrstrecke Köln-Aachen makes route hopping feasible from cologne to Brussels
