    Introduction
Hello. This is a highly requested and very scenic route I'm suggesting today. An amazing coastal route in Inverclyde, Glasgow. This route will be great to drive and have a great selection of trains to drive.

    The Route
This is a 30 mile route going from Glasgow Central to Wemyss Bay and Gourok. Average journey time is 50 mins but can be shorter depending on if you get an express service or not. The route goes past the coastal harbours of Port Glasgow and Greenock terminating at Other ferry terminals at Wemyss Bay and Gourok. Services are fast and frequent and it is a great route to drive. There would also be Ayshire Coast Line services drivable express as far a Paisley Gilmore Street before branching off to Johnstone out of bounds. Future potential for extensions down the ACL.

    The Rolling Stock
    Class 380 (NEW)
    20230429_132850.jpg

The class 380 desrio is a brilliant train serving the south and central belt of Scotland's railway. It has a wonderful interior design for passengers with a similar but better cab for the driver. It has iconic Desiro sounds wich have to be replicated perfectly for it to be so iconic and realistic. It has a tilted front that can be angled for coupling and modern style headlight below each cab window.

    Class 385

    (layered+new anouncements+new sounds)
The class 385 is currently on ScotRail express Edinburgh to Glasgow but would later in to the Inverclyde line with new anouncements and updated traction motor sounds as well as smart PIS and dtg GSMR Fetures.

    Class 320 (NEW)
    image (9).png

The Class 320 (nicknamed bin) is a emu concisting of 3 coaches per set. It's traction motors sounds similar (not the same) of a pep and the train has a nice interior (also similar to a 314) with smart PIS and anouncements.

Another great Scottish route suggestion again :)

Would be great to populate Central a bit with some 380s layered onto Cathcart on ACL/ICL services ;)

Yea! I'd love to drive the 380 around cathcart circle! Could later onto Edinburgh to Glasgow as well as A.I at Waverly and Haymarket.

I think this earns well-requested status because of my 4/5 efforts at it ;)

I would rather the 314 Railtour (which iirc never came to Inverclyde) wasn't in this route, instead, it could be a 2018 timetable, with the 314 and 380 running the services on the route. The 320 would still be utilised at Glasgow Central for AI.

That would be alongside the modern day timetable, with the 380, 385, 320 and, perhaps one day, 318.

It's rare that a route has four different traction types that do pretty much the same services, so plenty of options for DTG to milk it for money.

The timetables would also be considerably different as well, as our new timetable cut all "fast" Gourock services, so they all stop now at every station. Only Wemyss Bay trains skip stations now.

Whereas the 2018 one would have said fast services with the 380, offering a unique gameplay experience.

Wholeheartedly support this suggestion. One of two Scottish routes I would most like to see (the other being Edinburgh to Dundee :)). A well sized, scenic and complete network of lines with a busy timetable and a distinct train type (Class 380).

It would be best set a few years ago as trainsimplayer points out, where there would be more variety in traction and timetable patterns. Having the Class 314 layering in with a low chance of substituting for a Class 380 would be a fun surprise.

Maybe an ideal project for Rivet Games given their involvement in Cathcart Circle and the route's proximity to their offices?

If rivet took their time and made sure it was as good as possible, sure. Perhaps they already have, it's been 6/7 months now. Quite long for no DLCs, nevermind no announcement. (although they did help DTG on Glossop, supposedly)

Edinburgh - Glasgow, whilst being much more basic in terms of scenery than Inverclyde, was a well made route. That rolling hills/flat scenery is found in the Inverclyde Line between Glasgow and Bishopton - very similar in it's looks to the Neilston branch of Cathcart - before the route hits the Banks of the Clyde at Langbank, and runs through Greenock to Gourock or Wemyss Bay.
The Wemyss Bay line essentially overlooks Greenock, whilst the Gourock line is riverside running, a bit like Mainz - Koblenz.

I think Rivet could certainly pull the route off, it's just the 380 that is of concern...

Oh god no! Class 380 is my favourite and local train and I'd be. Devistated if they messed it up! I get your point but I think we leave this to the others on this one please...

That's understandable :D - if DTG were to assist with the rolling stock however, similar to how Skyhook/DTG brought the Class 158 to MML, it might be quite good. If DTG have sound recordings for the similar Class 350 then that's also a bonus.

Yea! Class 350 sounds almost exactly like it so those sounds would be perfect for the 380! Just needs the class 387 door sounds + announcements (hopefully)

After my recent trip to Wemyss bay and the isle of Bute I cannot enfise enough how scenic and coastal a route this is. After port Glasgow you go up on a hill and can see the coast and towns very well! This scenary continues for a while and looks gorgeous on a sunny day! Then when you approach Wemyss bay you got that bridge right next to the sea almost like the saltcoats sea wall. The route is very nice and I'd love to see it in the game! (With a class 385 with improved announcements and sounds)

Plus at Port Glasgow you can see Caledonian MacBrayne's (calmac's) ships being built/maintained!

They could probably reuse the dc sounds on the class 700 with slight modifications, as they actually used sounds from the class 350 for that
