I doubt it would be a good idea to include both commuter rail (DART) and light rail/trams (Luas) in a single route.

Luas would be really hard to make because you would have to do a spot-on recreation of the city of Dublin, which would be extremely difficult to do considering that you'll need to license every building and business depicted.

As for DART, they just announced plans to extend it north to Drogheda/Droichead Átha, County Louth. I would like to wait for that extension first, or even to Dundalk/Dún Dealgan so that we could have a route that runs from there all the way to Greystones/Na Clocha Liatha in County Wicklow, as well as a branch to Howth/Binn Éadair. I think this would be good because A) InterCity services to Belfast and Newry, NI make their first stop at Drogheda, and B) we would be able to experience 4 of Ireland's counties (Dublin, Wicklow, Meath, and Louth) instead of just the former 2 with the present network. It could let us run diesel services There's also a new DART station (Woodbrook) under construction.

The line would be around 94 km to Drogheda with the Howth branch, and 130km all the way to Dundalk. There would be quite a few diesel services along the route and one of them would actually use the entire mainline.

Yes that would be great. I get how difficult the luas would be. They could create the DART route as it is now and update the new Dundalk route later on. They could add a dlc for the new DART that will be introduced or have it put in later on. I do agree with the idea of waiting for the new routes to open
