I am 100% getting this DLC, I spent so much time watching Thomas as a child and I am finding it so hard to grasp that the majority reaction is negative. I think this is such a cool and interesting idea and working with Mattel is an insane pull.

GG to the DTG team for pulling this off I was positively gobsmacked watching that reveal!

Not excited, but hey, if it brings income into DTG, then who am I to argue.

    Will I buy it.....No.
But then it would be no different to me personally if it was German DLC.
You can't please everyone (or anybody here) apparently.

Unless it’s ludicrously priced I’ll get this. I’m 41 and grew up with the little dude and my two kids will enjoy it too. Can see why people are annoyed but imagine I’ll enjoy it.

It must have been fun to develop and it will probably bring in a lot of cash, but yeah this sort of thing is not why I’m here. I don’t mind though.

If they use this opportunity to fix the steam physics, yes. Thomas is the reason why I love british steam trains after all. I´m just dissapointed that we don´t get Sodor Island.

Probably not. I still have a bunch of DLCs that I want to buy from TSW3 that I haven't yet. I am pleased to see it, though.

I wonder if they'll get the actual narrator (or use AI to bring him in) for the voice overs. What was his name... Ringo Star?

It would be top tier trolling if they priced this at £30 because Ringo did the voice over haha!

It's not for me. I'm 45 so was a little too old for it when Thomas came to American tv at least.

I don't hate the concept of a kid friendly version of TSW at all, i just think it should be a completely separate game. I kinda thought that's what the Roblox thing was supposed to be?

    Quite!

On a serious note, I'd imagine the licencing fee would probably inflate the price a little.

I might have been a little more interested if it had been an Isle of Sodor DLC and if it hadn’t been over hyped. But as stands it won’t be ending up in my collection.

DTG clearly feel there’s a market for it which will more than recover the (no doubt not insignificant ) cost for the licence so good luck to them, I just question why it was hyped up so much.

Should've just been a normal, not big reveal. Surely they'd have known that this will irritate a fair few folks waiting for something more sim/realism appropriate? Anyway, not fussed about this, we were trolled by the big reveal many years ago (console release) so I knew to temper expectations.

Also if it is a success and DTG make a killing off it they (in theory) will have more money to put back into the game.

Excited? Not really. I won't buy it because it does not interest me. If it sells well and some of the profits get put back in to developing new routes/locos and features then happy days!

    50/50

I have kids, who will most definitely enjoy this more than I do, however we also have stacks upon stacks of wooden track, stations, bridges, tunnels and trains. We even have the LNER Azuma that now exists in wooden toy form. My kids like building the tracks or pushing it along themselves. Thomas, for them, is physical. He’s a little wooden toy. I won’t know until release if they would be as engaged by it on ‘train game’ or not.

I wonder if it was entirely separate to core TSW5, and was fun, goofy and absolutely fictional would it be more appealing.. we’ll find out one day.

+1. IF a revamped steam system is part of this, then it's a huge win wrapped in candy-coloured paper.

    Yes!

Because we all need some Thomas in our life's. My kid will appreciate it too.

If this was a 1938 Mallard Thomas TTE edition no one would be complaining.

For me, no. If I am getting it then it would be the last thing I will get for TSW. For once its a DLC that I don't mind having and it doesnt hurt but, having something in a game thats about realism, which thomas is fictional... I am unsure would this sell well in TSW.

Ngl that would be fire lol.

Not really, no. I loved the series when they still used real models but I certainly have no need of it in a simulator.

That would be an unexpected win. Unfortunately, my first thought was the opposite - an even more simplified set of physics along the lines of the Holiday/Elf route given what I assume to be the target demographic. I'll happily let DTG prove me wrong though.

    No.

If they had done a scale size and geographically correct Isle Of Sodor with the full railway network then that would have piqued my interest.

But what amounts to a content pack for WSR... Repeat - no.

Not really for me. If my kids were a little younger I could see them checking it out though. I did get the Christmas dlc a few years back and enjoyed it with them. I'm sure there are loads of people that will get excited for this. I do think the license is a huge get for DTG. Maybe this could lead to more opportunities in the future.

About as likely as me buying another German route.
Neither hold much appeal personally, but I'm glad the game has variety.

I wouldn’t take this for free, especially after their “Big Reveal” Joke. I’m more of an angry than ever get excited for this. They really thought we will get excited for this is just beyond ridiculous.

Translation: You don't like it so it's not "important."
    We get it.
    You're selfish.
However, a big deal, a fully released DLC with a major franchise IS a "big reveal."
You just don't like the content.

You could be sad it's not what you in particular wanted, but you can't deny it's a "big reveal."
    It literally is.
You don't have to be excited about every release in TSW for it to be legitimate.
Just accept the world doesn't revolve around you.

I for one am NOT going to get upset because some kids get to enjoy trains and join the train enthusiast hobby.
    Because that would be selfish.
