So as well know very well, Dovetail is asking for more money from our wallets for a new installment in the TSW series. I probably will Pre-order standerd editor closer to launch so I can get the 25% discount, but that’s besides the point.
So I was doing some digging around the Xbox store looking at some of the screenshots they used on the store to promote the game. When I looked at the cover imagine and something crossed my mind. 1 game came to mind. Train Simulator 2014. So I looked up the game and found the cover photo found here:

    comparing it to TSW4

this image for some reason looks weirdly similar to the one for TSW4. I found them to similar because both of these covers have trains going away from something and they are coming towards the cover art. Now dovetail could or could’ve used inspiration but I found it a little weird how similar these look. Both the TSW4 and TS2014 covers have the trains coming towards us but not directly towards the camera (the viewer) and they both have trains driving next to eachother in a manner where all of them can be seen. I’ve also heard of some people talking about how dovetail has started to create more TSW routes based of the Ts Classic version with obviously the new looks. But I thought I’d just share what I’ve noticed about the similarity between these 2.
This isn’t a bash or concern I have with TSW4 or Dovetail themselves. In fact I am a little exited for TSW4, I have been loyal to these devs when it comes to U.S content as I don’t find the other countries as a higher interest to me. You can also look up some of the older games covers and compare If you’d like. Like this one from 2020:

Train Sim World 3 and some of the older Railworks titles were really the only ones to not follow the "trains of the main 3 routes right next to each other" format. Just such a classic format it is. Personally seeing the TSW4 box art reminded me of Train Simulator 2015, though I imagine the 801 in the middle helps with that!

(Searching this up made me learn that TS2015 did the same thing as TSW1 where the train in the middle would vary depending on region the game is sold in)

Would've been awesome if they replicated the TS2015 cover as a throwback :P
