In that I can't get the thing to move! I've used it before just fine, and I went in to run a timetable service from Brussels to Koln. Mostly the trains are powered up for timetable runs, so I just flipped the reverser to forward, checked headlights and so on, turned off the parking brake and... Nothing. Train brake is off, but when I move the throttle the throttle / brake indicator box in the HUD stays red and nothing happens. I wondered whether it might be the standby battery, but the train has power (lights in the cab work, doors open and close) and when I went just to check, the standby battery wasn't selectable. Well, I assumed it's me, so went back to do the training module and when I go to turn on the standby battery it doesn't work. It's selectable, but there's no way to turn it on and hold for 5 seconds. And this is now the second DLC where for whatever reason the HUD power / brake indicator doesn't seem to want to leave brake mode when I engage the throttle.
Set the reverser Forward, Raise the pantograph then close the circuit breaker and you are good to go.
Thanks, tried all that too, still no go. Like I said, I don't think it was a power issue as doors opened and closed, but I did in any case try what you suggested with the pantograph and the circuit breaker just in case. The main issue seems to be the fact that the throttle isn't being recognized as the throttle as the power / brake HUD indicator stays red and though the numbers increment they are yellow and the box remains red.
Did you set the reverser forward before trying to raise the pantograph? If you don't set the reverser forward first trying to raise the pantograph will do nothing.
Well, started again, kept it simple, did the three things in the order you explained and hooray - was able to get started. Thanks for your patience. Unfortunately, as I was decelerating towards the end of the journey there was a red signal. I managed to brake in time not to run the signal, but even though I never went into emergency brake mode, I was at most at 80% brake power, that seemed to stop the train working again. I set the reverser to off, open the mcb and lowered the pantograph and then started up again but to no avail. Clearly there is more to do to reset the train (although I'm not sure why it needed resetting). It's kind of frustrating at times to be honest. Still, fun at other times.
Good to hear you could get it moving. To get the train moving again after the stop you should not need to do anything special. Set the throttle to OFF (not MIN, it has to be OFF), release the brakes and then apply power again. Under normal circumstances you should not need to touch the reverser, MCB or pantograph at all.
If I recall correctly you need to hold the brake release buttons until it’s fully released. Ensure throttle is fully off (idle) and that “should” turn your red box white again. if you do the above and it doesn’t knock it into neutral then back into forwards. This train running AFB and PZB is awesome! (You’ll need to dig out a video of how to set them up and use them though on YouTube)
