As said in the title, is it normal/legal ? I have like the SD-40 2 manual, the P42 manual, the ES44 DC, the MP36,... I found them on the internet.
Why wouldn't it be legal? I know players who use detailed manuals or have asked for one in the past on the forums. As long as you don't hijack trains or do something illegal
You can even find manuals for the F16 and the M1A2 Abrams thanks to the Warthunder’s forum. If it says on the manual “not to be redistributed” or not declassified then it’s not legal but you always have some leaks from the inside. I’m only speaking according to my place policies but it might be different elsewhere.
Most train shows I've been to have had manuals for sale, I even bought a GP35 manual from a member of another forum I belong to. I've also found employee timetables and rule books occasionally in antique shops. I don't think that there's anything illegal about it; most of them are usually from retired employees, and tend to be out of date. I don't think railroads are typically happy about it, but most what you find are usually outdated copies.
