Assuming that TSW5 will be announced tomorrow (20/8/24) at Dovetail Direct, is it worth worth buying TSW4 and just waiting till TSW5 joins Gamepass or holding for TSW5 and buying it then.

If you think a new game is on the horizon, which will make the current one obsolete, why purchase the current one unless you don't plan on buying the new one within the next few months?
Seems little point buying TSW4 at this point, unless DTG have a last minute blowout sale. Just be patient and wait to see what’s announced in a few hours time.
Arguably, the only thing we gained from buying TSW4 was the ability to play Blackpool Branches. The 3 core routes were not compelling in my view and any new features were either delayed or failed to launch. TSW5 is an unknown, but one thing for sure is that any new routes you may want will be behind its paywall. Best advice is to buy TSW5 when and if you need it. Could be now or could be later.
Well after buying all the games from 2020 to 4 I'm only bothering with 5 on gamepass. I'm bored of having to do the same routes over and over again for the same bloody achievements game in, game out! We DON'T need TSW5! What we need is an annual core update and a route pack so that we don't have to play the same routes for the umpteenth time. As it is there's nothing really exciting coming with 5 anyway. ECML has been ruined by the leak and DTG making the 390 DLC, San Bernardino is a TSW 4 holdback route and the German route will have the same rolling stock on it that all the other German routes have!
I unsubscribed from Gamepass about 3 years ago. The £20 spent on Gamepass every month just goes on buying the games now, especially when there is nothing in the Gamepass catalogue that you want to play... I never actually used it, and was just a waste of money every month.
